To not only feel loved but to have the chance to give love once more. To be the person who gets to spend my life making Rebecca happy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rory and Joey Feek\u2019s Daughter Supported Him Remarrying<\/h2>\n \u201cOur wedding actually began with Indy. It was her idea,\u201d Rory wrote about his daughter whom he welcomed with Joey in 2014.<\/p>\n
\u201cUp until that time, Indiana only saw Rebecca as \u2018Miss Rebecca\u2019 as her schoolteacher and our friend. And although she had become much more than that to me, I was very careful to let Indy \u2018figure it out\u2019 on her own. And honestly, I wasn\u2019t really sure if she ever could, or would, at all,\u201d he said of his child.<\/p>\n
Indy\u2019s \u201clove for her Mama is so great and so big in her life. Neither Rebecca or I wanted to hurt that in any way. And so we just waited and watched to see if it might ever occur to Indiana that Rebecca could be more than just a friend to her Papa, and to her,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>
ick Diamond\/Getty Images for CCMA<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nIn March when Rebecca came to their farmhouse to take Indy to school, \u201cThey came back in the kitchen and Rebecca said, \u2018Rory, Indiana just asked me something that I think you need to hear.\u2019 I asked Indy, and she told me that she said, \u2018Ms. Rebecca, I think you should marry Papa\u2026’\u201d<\/p>\n
Rory was \u201ccaught off guard\u201d and said it was something they would need to pray about.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd then Indy looked at me and said \u2018and I told Miss Rebecca that my Mama\u2019s been gone a long time. And if she marries you, maybe she could be my new mother\u2026’\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n
At the end of his post, the \u201cGentleman\u201d singer noted how with his wedding, \u201cIndiana was given the gift of having a Mama in her life again. And Rebecca was given the gift of being a mother. And we became a family.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<\/div>

The couple, who released seven albums as the duo Joey + Rory, shared her battle with the disease on social media, as fans around the world followed her health crisis.<\/p>\n
When announcing her death in a blog post, Rory wrote, \u201cMy wife\u2019s greatest dream came true today. She is in Heaven. The cancer is gone, the pain has ceased, and all her tears are dry. Joey is in the arms of her beloved brother Justin and using her pretty voice to sing for her savior.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAs we were gathered around her, holding hands and praying, my precious bride breathed her last (breath). And a moment later took her first breath on the other side,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
