While shedding light on his divorce, Bryan Abasolo<\/strong><\/a> admitted that family planning with estranged wife Rachel Lindsay<\/strong><\/a> \u201cbroke my heart\u201d as they struggled with expanding their family.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted kids like anybody else, but other things were made a priority, which put a lot of pressure on both of us,\u201d Abasolo, 44, told his divorce coach<\/a>, Rene Garcia<\/strong>, in a YouTube video shared on Saturday, July 20. \u201cWomen have a different biological clock than us. It was going to be me going along with a plan, but I was under a hell of a lot of stress.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was \u201ctough\u201d and \u201chard\u201d to watch Lindsay, 39, struggle with fertility issues.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt felt terrible. Just watching her sadness, it broke my heart,\u201d Abasolo continued.\u201dIt was like I was failing expectations on all fronts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Us Weekly confirmed in January 2024 that Abasolo filed for divorce from Lindsay. Court documents obtained by Us at time revealed he [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Lindsay met Abasolo during The Bachelorette<\/em><\/a> season 13 in 2017. He proposed during the show\u2019s season finale. They tied the knot in August 2019. After getting married, the pair told Us Weekly<\/em> exclusively that they hoped to have kids \u201csooner rather than later.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not preventing it, but if we\u2019re planning, in the next year,\u201d Lindsay shared with Us<\/em> in October 2019. \u201cWe definitely are on the same page in what we want.\u201d<\/p>\n

As their marriage progressed, the pair offered more details on why they hadn\u2019t become parents just yet.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we\u2019ve just grown so much together. Obviously, we were engaged for a couple years. Now, we\u2019ve been married for a couple years,\u201d Abasolo explained<\/a> to Us<\/em> of his marriage during a June 2022 interview. \u201cWe have a new house, we have our dogs, kids are in our future as well. We just got a lot of great things going on.\u201d<\/p>\n

By the next year, Lindsay doubled down on Abasolo\u2019s past comments.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re working on having a kid,\u201d she shared on \u201cThe Viall Files\u201d podcast<\/a> in December 2023. \u201cSometimes that\u2019s not as easy as you think. You think, \u2018OK, when I\u2019m ready, it\u2019ll happen,\u2019 and then it doesn\u2019t. So, that\u2019s been a little bit of a struggle too.\u201d<\/p>\n

After meeting Lindsay on Nick Viall\u2019s season 21 of The Bachelor, the attorney made history as the first Black Bachelorette in 2017. Us<\/em> confirmed in January that Abasolo had filed for divorce<\/a> after four years of marriage. He listed their date of separation as December 23, 2023, in the filing and requested spousal support.<\/p>\n
