Ingrid Andress<\/strong><\/a>\u2019 national anthem performance didn\u2019t go the way she planned \u2014 but it still gave her career a boost.<\/p>\n

The Nashville-based country singer, 32, has seen her streams spike in the wake of a disastrous rendition of \u201cThe Star-Spangled Banner\u201d <\/a>at the MLB Home Run Derby on Monday, July 15. Billboard<\/em> reports<\/a> that Andress\u2019 streaming numbers more than tripled on the day of and day after the Derby.<\/p>\n

The music magazine noted a 229% surge in Andress\u2019 streams for a total of 1.2 million plays in the U.S. A full 941,000 of those streams came the day after her widely criticized performance. It was the biggest bump in her streaming numbers since a 2022 appearance on CMT\u2019s Drinkin\u2019 With<\/em>. That day in November topped her single-day spike from the Home Run Derby, with Andress\u2019 catalog notching 964,000 streams.<\/p>\n

As Andress\u2019 streams were spiking, the four-time Grammy nominee announced she was checking herself into rehab<\/a>, as she blamed her performance on being drunk at the time. \u201cI\u2019m not gonna bulls\u2013t y\u2019all, I was drunk last night,\u201d Andress posted via X on Tuesday, July 16. \u201cI\u2019m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need.\u201d<\/p>\n

Some celebrities have certifiably slayed their live renditions of the tune, while others missed the mark. In July 2024, country star Ingrid Andress went viral for her unique take on \u201cThe Star-Spangled Banner,\u201d which [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She went on to apologize to \u201c[the] MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition.\u201d<\/p>\n

Andress canceled a show in Nashville<\/a> this week and a Denver performance scheduled for July 24. Her next scheduled concert is set for October in Ocean City, Maryland.<\/p>\n

After Andress shared that she was checking into rehab, the mocking tone around her viral performance largely turned supportive.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve got this. Sending encouragement and love \u2764\ufe0f,\u201d country singer Cassadee Pope<\/strong> commented on Andress\u2019 Instagram statement.<\/p>\n

Pretty Little Liars<\/em> actress Lucy Hale<\/strong>, who has been open about her struggle with alcoholism, also offered words of encouragement.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so sorry you\u2019re going through this,\u201d she commented. \u201cSending you a lot of my thoughts. Take care of you & you\u2019re going to come out of this so much stronger\u2764\ufe0f.\u201d<\/p>\n
