Kyle Cooke<\/strong><\/a> slammed former costar Hannah Berner<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s claims that he was behind getting her fired from Summer House<\/em><\/a> in 2021.<\/p>\n \u201cI have nothing to do with casting,\u201d Kyle, 41, told Page Six<\/em> <\/a>on Thursday, July 18. He said it was \u201cupsetting\u201d that \u201cthis is the narrative being shared because there\u2019s no truth to it.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m flattered anyone thinks I could have that kind of pull,\u201d he added, \u201cBut clearly, I don\u2019t have any control over what Bravo does.\u201d<\/p>\n Hannah, 32, made the allegation during a July 11 appearance on Dave Portnoy<\/strong>\u2018s \u201cBFFs\u201d podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Brooklyn, New York, native claimed it came down to her doing an ad for Truly Hard Seltzer during season 5 of the show. Kyle\u2019s storyline that year revolved around him launching his Loverboy beverage company<\/a>, which was in competition with Truly.<\/p>\n Dave, 47, asked Hannah if it was \u201ctrue\u201d that she was fired from the Bravo reality show \u201cfor sponsoring a rival seltzer drink.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cOh, wow, Dave is on his s\u2013t!\u201d she responded. \u201cThe truth is beef started because I did an ad for Truly [Hard] Seltzer, and I didn\u2019t know that I, like, wasn\u2019t allowed to.\u201d<\/p>\n Hannah said Bravo \u201cdidn\u2019t fire\u201d her, but that \u201csome people on the cast got annoyed at [her], and then it kind of snowballed.\u201d<\/p>\n When the Barstool Sports founder asked directly if it was because of Kyle\u2019s Loverboy brand, Hannah replied, \u201cYeah, that was a big storyline on the show. I didn\u2019t know that I wasn\u2019t allowed to drink other drinks.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cBerner Phone\u201d podcast host went on to imply it was Kyle who was behind her being let go.<\/p>\n \u201cI think some of these shows become a lot of egos, and it\u2019s like, \u2018It\u2019s my show. It\u2019s my drink. You can\u2019t do that.\u2019 And there\u2019s no rules, and it just becomes fighting over egos and screen time, and it\u2019s not that fun after doing it for too many seasons,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n Kyle told Page Six<\/em> that the timeline of Hannah\u2019s claims against him didn\u2019t make sense, saying, \u201cI believe her collaboration with Truly was a year after we filmed the season 5 reunion, so the timing doesn\u2019t add up.\u201d<\/p>\n Hannah appeared in an ad for Truly in April 2022, a year after the Summer House<\/em> season 5 reunion. However, she began her collaboration with the beverage company in 2019, which she shared in an Instagram post<\/a>.<\/p>\n The podcaster was seen getting out of a pool in an orange bikini while pouring a can of the drink over her head. In the caption she joked, \u201cThis summer I got really into @truly because I filled my whole pool with it,\u201d adding, \u201cBut for real, it\u2019s the most refreshing drink of the summer with only 100 calories, 1 gram of sugar, and 5% ABV.\u201d<\/p>\n Kyle said he never had any conversations with Hannah about her working with Truly while he was starting Loverboy.<\/p>\n \u201cWe never spoke about it, but when I saw it, I thought that it made a lot of sense for them to tap into the Bravo fanbase,\u201d he told the outlet. As far as her 2022 ad, Kyle stated, \u201cAt that point in time, Loverboy was legitimately taking off, and I was too focused there to give it any more thought than that.\u201d<\/p>\n When Hannah announced she wouldn\u2019t be back for Summer House<\/em> after three seasons in May 2021, she claimed it was because she wanted to focus on her comedy career.<\/p>\n \u201cThis past year has been one of the most important in my life for self-reflection, love, and learning a lot of s\u2013t. I\u2019ve welcomed new career ventures, challenges and obstacles, and opportunities for growth. As we climb out of the emotional trenches of 2020, I look forward to an exciting summer, but with mixed emotions I\u2019m announcing I won\u2019t be spending it living in the summer house,\u201d she explained in an Instagram post<\/a>.<\/p>\n Hannah continued, \u201cThese last three summers have truly been a whirlwind and the show has, without a doubt, changed my life and I will forever be thankful for the platform it has provided me.
