The Bear, which debuted on Hulu in June 2022, introduced viewers to The Beef restaurant, which was taken over by Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) following the death of his [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cI think of all the seasons, a lot of the miscommunications were derived from them being young and not really knowing what to do,\u201d he explained. \u201cI\u2019d say this season in particular, there\u2019s just things that happen in life. That there is no real, like, perfect way to react to stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bertrand points to Peyton List\u2019s<\/strong> Tory Nichols as an example. Part 1 of season 6, which dropped on Thursday, July 18, saw Tori reeling over death of her mother and leaving Miyagi-Do to rejoin Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka<\/strong>) and Daniel La Russo\u2019s (Ralph Macchio<\/strong>) nemesis, John Kreese (Martin Kove<\/strong>), in his recalibrated Cobra Kai. Hawk and the rest of the crew are blindsided by the news when they fly overseas to South Korea for the Sekai Taikai.<\/p>\nWhile Hawk will likely not take the betrayal well, Bertrand said that he understands Tory\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe actions that Tory takes are, to me, so justified,\u201d he told Us.<\/em> \u201cShe\u2019s just looking out for herself, just trying to survive, you know?\u201d Bertrand added that while the choice\u00a0will\u00a0<\/i>\u201ccause a lot of animosity\u201d in the group, it\u2019s a \u201cwarranted\u201d move fueled by grief and loss.<\/p>\n\u201cHer life is crumbling before her eyes, and where else are you going to turn? Of course, Hawk will be dealing with his own baggage this season. The character has seen an immense amount of change throughout the years, shifting from shy and quiet Eli to rebel without a cause Hawk. Now, Bertrand says the character is hoping to find balance \u2014 even if that means abandoning his childhood dreams of attending MIT with his best friend, Demetri (Gianni Decenzo<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\u201cI think Hawk in these instances, in the past two years, he\u2019s sort of experiencing life in a completely new fashion,\u201d Bertrand explained. \u201cAnd I feel like MIT was an old Eli dream. And Hawk is trying to figure out exactly what his dreams are now. And you know, he goes to this frat party, he\u2019s really popular with the girls. And I think for a second it gives him a pause of, \u2018Wait, what do I wanna do? Maybe I\u2019ll go to a party school, maybe I can dip into that life.\u2019 But I think that line of thinking is a little bit more Red Hawk than it is Miyagi Do, centered Hawk.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bertrand said that while Hawk\u2019s future is up in the air now, he will make a decision by the series finale \u2014 but don\u2019t expect it to come much sooner than that. You can be good and feel safe with us and hanging out with us,\u2019\u201c he said. \u201cSo I think that\u2019s sort of a little bit of an arc that we get to see this season.\u201d<\/p>\n
