Olympic diver Tyler Downs<\/strong> has his sights set on gold at the 2024 Summer Olympics <\/a><\/span>\u2014 but he\u2019s leaving the door open for some extracurricular fun along the way.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Downs exclusively tells Us Weekly<\/i> that he\u2019s keeping an open mind about dating while putting down roots at Paris\u2019 Olympic Village.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, it\u2019s not completely off my mind,\u201d Downs, 20, says with a laugh while promoting his partnership with Rizz, the world\u2019s first flirting app. \u201cWhatever happens, happens. I guess we\u2019ll have to see.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He adds, \u201cIt\u2019s Paris. It\u2019s the city of love and all that stuff. I\u2019m hoping that people can find connections.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Arguably the most infamous Olympic rivalry occurred between professional figure skaters Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding. Their feud went so far that Harding\u2019s ex-husband and bodyguard hired a man to [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Downs is making his second-consecutive appearance at the Summer Olympics, competing in the synchro 3m springboard with his partner Greg Duncan<\/strong>. The duo finished 4th in the event at the 2023 World Championships.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s going to be so many amazing, talented athletes there,\u201d Downs notes of the Village. \u201cEveryone\u2019s gonna want to meet each other and talk to each other in the dining hall or just outside walking around.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Dating aside, Downs says he\u2019s most looking forward to the Opening Ceremony<\/a>, which goes down July 26 on Paris\u2019 Seine river.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI think that really is the time where Olympians come together and are like, \u2018OK, we made it. We\u2019re here,\u2019\u201d Downs says. \u201cThat\u2019s very special.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Whether or not Downs finds love while he\u2019s abroad, he\u2019s happy to have the full support and backing of the Team USA swimming and diving squads.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very important,\u201d he says. \u201cYou want to go into the Olympics trusting one another. As much as we all want to do our <\/i>best, we want our teammates to do the best they can, as well. Especially the diving team, we\u2019ve all known each other for the past 10 years. We\u2019re like brothers and sisters.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
