Kesha<\/strong><\/a> had so much to say in a new interview.<\/p>\n The 37-year-old \u201cJoyride\u201d hitmaker recently kickstarted a new era<\/a>, her first since parting ways with Dr. Luke<\/strong><\/a>, with a high-octane bop. <\/p>\n During a conversation with Forbes<\/a>, Kesha<\/strong> touched on a variety of topics. That included her extended legal battle with Luke<\/strong>, her newfound freedom and the \u201cparty girl\u201d label that she got after dropping her single \u201cTik Tok.\u201d <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n On the topic of her earliest music, Kesha<\/strong> said that it \u201cwas full of irony and kind of went over people\u2019s heads.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cI feel like I got labeled as a party girl and very unintelligent, and that\u2019s a stigma I\u2019ve been trying to fight against my entire career,\u201d she said. The singer added that she originally wanted to go to Columbia University to study psychology and comparative religion. <\/p>\n However, she dropped out of school and got her GED at the urging of record labels she was talking to at the time. <\/p>\n Speaking about her new single \u201cJoyride,\u201d Kesha<\/strong> said that she felt \u201cthe most gratitude, happiness.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cI feel free for the first time since I was 18 years old and I so appreciate every single person that has streamed it, and I love the videos that are being made,\u201d she gushed. <\/p>\n She continued, addressing her battle with Dr. Luke<\/strong>, which was settled last year: \u201cI\u2019ve spent almost 10 years in litigation and millions of dollars in legal fees. This joy has been hard-fought for me, so I love that people are ready to \u2018Joyride\u2019 with me.\u201d<\/p>\n Kesha<\/strong> had more to say about record deals and masters, adding that it was something that she wanted to take on and change.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s wild that a human being can lose the rights to their recorded voice in perpetuity in the universe. First of all, changing litigation around that is something that\u2019s on my radar, so if this makes it into the interview \u2013 if anybody\u2019s reading this \u2013 I would love to connect because it\u2019s atrocious that\u2019s part of the business of making art,\u201d she said. \u201cThat\u2019s my first thought \u2013 and second of all, I have to say, currently I\u2019m really excited to build a safe space for artists because creation and fear cannot co-exist.
