When Cory Wurtenberger<\/a><\/strong> and America Lopez<\/strong> entered the Big Brother<\/i><\/a> house last summer for season 25, their eyes were on the $750,000 cash prize.<\/p>\n

As the pair began spending time together, Cory, 22, and America, 28, realized they were more than just friendly competitors.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt first, he was just the geeky boy,\u201d America exclusively shared with Us Weekly<\/i> ahead of the brand new season<\/a> of Big Brother<\/i>, which kicks off on Wednesday, July 17, with a new cast. \u201cWe didn\u2019t talk for the first, like, 11 days. We\u2019re outside doing laundry and he starts speaking Spanish. He starts reciting this speech that he did in high school and he\u2019s doing it so well. I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh my God, he\u2019s funny. I want to talk to him more.\u2019 From there on, we started having hammock talks and you felt like the most normal person there.\u201d<\/p>\n

One year later, the pair\u2019s showmance appears to be stronger than ever as they continue living together and growing as a couple.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tIt\u2019s tough to win Big Brother without some sort of alliance \u2014 but it\u2019s even more difficult if you\u2019re one half of a showmance. However, that doesn\u2019t stop competitors, time and time again, from pairing up while in the house. \u201cThe secret no one knows about Big Brother \u2014 I think it\u2019s really a marriage [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While American went back to Texas and Cory traveled back to Nashville, Tennessee, for school after the finale, long-distance proved to be easier said than done.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter two weeks apart, I was, like, \u2018This sucks. Let me move to Nashville,\u2019\u201d America shared. \u201cI moved here January 1 and I got my own apartment. He lived down the street at his dorm. We did that for like five months and then he moved in after last semester. We\u2019ve been living together for three or four months.\u201d<\/p>\n

Between work commitments, the pair find themselves cuddling on the couch and watching Love Island USA<\/i> and other reality TV shows. When they choose to go out, one of their favorite outings is a stop at the local TJ Maxx.<\/p>\n

While Cory and America acknowledge several successful couples have been formed in the Big Brother<\/i> house \u2014 Jeff Schroeder<\/strong> and Jordan Lloyd<\/strong> along with Rachel Reilly<\/strong> and Brendon Villegas<\/strong> are some of the couples who have gone on to marry and welcome kids \u2014 it appears to be too early to think about getting engaged.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe fall season is almost upon Us and the TV schedule is looking better than ever. Fans of NBC\u2019s One Chicago franchise can expect every show to return in late September. The trio of shows \u2014 Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. \u2014 made headlines as several cast members across the franchise announced their [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe talked about this a lot and I was open in the house about not wanting to get married ever,\u201d America told Us<\/i> when asked about a future proposal. \u201cWith Cory, I\u2019ll catch myself being, like, \u2018If I were to get married, this is the kind of ring I\u2019d like.\u2019 But we just moved in together. Cory still hasn\u2019t finished college.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cory added with a laugh, \u201cI appreciate you asking though because I was going to ask her after the call and now I know to steer clear.\u201d<\/p>\n

For now, the pair continue learning more about each other. America joked that her boyfriend doesn\u2019t drink enough water and is a \u201creally anxious\u201d driver. As for Cory, he thinks America \u201cis far funnier than me.\u201d<\/p>\n

While they didn\u2019t take home the title of Big Brother<\/i> winner, both America and Cory don\u2019t appear to have regrets about their experience on the CBS reality show. As a new group of contestants begin their journey, however, this showmance has a few words of wisdom.<\/p>\n
