\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Ryan Serhant<\/strong><\/a> is speaking out in response to his former employee Jonathan Normolle<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s claim that he was the one who planned his own firing.<\/p>\n At the end of season one of Netflix\u2019s Owning Manhattan<\/strong><\/a><\/em> series, Jonathan<\/strong> got fired for a whole list of reasons, including tarnishing the brand\u2019s reputation.<\/p>\n \u201cI had a plan because I was under contract with Ryan <\/strong>and all the sponsorships,\u201d Jonathan<\/strong> told DailyMail.com<\/a>. \u201cThe only way I could get out of those contracts was if I got Ryan <\/strong>mad enough for him to fire me.\u201d<\/p>\n Now, Ryan <\/strong>is responding to the assertions made by Jonathan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI haven\u2019t publicly commented. All I\u2019ll say is I don\u2019t fault anyone these days for trying to control their own narrative, but I think the facts tell a story and it\u2019s almost like the facts were on a global Netflix TV show,\u201d Ryan <\/strong>told Page Six<\/em>\u2019s \u201cVirtual Reali-Tea\u201d podcast<\/a>. <\/p>\n He added, \u201cWhen clients come on the show, they\u2019ll say to me, \u2018OK, I want to go on the show but I want to make sure you don\u2019t make me look like a jerk.\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018OK, well don\u2019t say anything that will make you sound like a jerk.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Ryan <\/strong>talked about having Jonathan<\/strong>\u2018s firing become a moment on reality TV.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s so awkward. It wasn\u2019t my intent,\u201d he said. \u201cI don\u2019t hire people with the intent to fire them. I didn\u2019t hire any of the agents \u2014 who are actual real estate agents, who are actually at our company \u2014 with the intent to let them go. That was super uncomfortable.\u201d<\/p>\n Ryan <\/strong>teased that it\u2019s possible Jonathan <\/strong>will return to Owning Manhattan<\/em> and compared it to his former work on the soap opera As The World Turns<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cI came to New York City to do theater, so I got onto a soap opera. So I played Doctor Evan Walsh IV. Not long after I started did I go from a good doctor to the doctor that kills everybody to then is murdered by his own grandmother. Which in \u2018Actor World\u2019 means you\u2019re fired,\u201d Ryan <\/strong>said. \u201cAnd I remember going to the executive producer and he\u2019s like, \u2018Hey, listen.
