Joe Bradley<\/strong> and Nathan Gallagher<\/strong> were big fans of Below Deck Mediterranean<\/em><\/a> before joining the show \u2014 but it didn\u2019t take long for them to get used to being in front of the cameras.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cBefore the season started, what I knew personally about Below Deck<\/em> was kind of everything. I love the show \u2014 we watch it,\u201d Nathan exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> during a joint interview. \u201cIt\u2019s good fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nathan\u2019s knowledge of the hit Bravo series<\/a> meant he had some concerns after going from fan to cast member.<\/p>\n

\u201cBefore joining I was probably nervous about the crew that would\u2019ve been there. But then I met Joe and that just made me feel comfortable straight away,\u201d he recalled. \u201cSo it was like being at work \u2014 it didn\u2019t even feel like we\u2019re on camera. We were just doing our thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tOver the years, Bravo viewers have seen Below Deck Mediterranean cast members come and go \u2014 but not before they brought the drama to the small screen. The spinoff series, which premiered in 2016, seemingly found a permanent crew member in chief stew Hannah Ferrier. The Australia native appeared in five seasons of the hit [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Joe agreed with Nathan, adding, \u201cIt\u2019s just a natural reaction. Going on board, it is a nervous environment. Not only have you got the crew to meet but, obviously, everyone\u2019s going around at an intense level.\u201d<\/p>\n

The lead deckhand continued: \u201cBut then when you meet someone that you\u2019re comfortable with and you\u2019re just like, \u2018Alright, this is my guy that I can rely on. And if there [are] any issues coming forward then I can talk to this guy.\u2019 You\u2019ve got to have emotional support and we had that as cabin mates and being in the same department. It was an absolute riot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Season 9 of Below Deck Mediterranean<\/em> started off with plenty of drama when Joe found himself in a love triangle with Ellie Dubaich<\/strong> and Bri Muller<\/strong><\/a>. Nathan, meanwhile, started to grow closer to Gael Cameron<\/strong> \u2014 who has a boyfriend. Earlier in the season, viewers were in for a surprise when Nathan and Gael nearly hooked up off screen before production<\/a> stopped them.<\/p>\n

\u201c[The cameras] weren\u2019t on my mind,\u201d Nathan admitted to Us<\/em>. \u201cI was 10 tequilas deep. I didn\u2019t even know what a camera was exactly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nathan added that he had \u201cno game plan\u201d when it came to his attraction<\/a> to not-so-single Gael.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith Gael, it just happened insanely fast. We connected and we grew a very, very strong bond. As time went on, we were just going with the flow,\u201d he explained. \u201cI was going with the flow. I didn\u2019t want to put too much pressure on her. I didn\u2019t want to set us up to hook up in certain areas or certain times. It was more of what was happening in the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

In fact, both Nathan and Joe stood by most of their decisions throughout the season. \u201cI don\u2019t live life with regret,\u201d Nathan told Us<\/em> before Joe added, \u201cNo regrets. Just a few bad choices.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAs soon as you step foot on a Below Deck Mediterranean charter yacht, you\u2019re guaranteed one thing: a whole lot of drama. Throughout its Bravo run, crew members like Captain Sandy Yawn, Hannah Ferrier, Malia White and more have been know to butt heads with each other \u2014 all with the purpose of delivering a [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Watching their ups and downs back reminded Nathan and Joe just how quickly they forgot they were being filmed<\/a>. According to Joe, the concern went away \u201cafter a day or two\u201d of being on board.<\/p>\n
