Rodriguez\/Getty Images)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 id=\"h-bowie-was-with-shannen-doherty-until-the-very-end\">Bowie was with Shannen Doherty until the very end<\/h2>\n<p>Across various <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C44OwfyoeQe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Instagram<\/a> posts, Shannen Doherty affirmed her love for her dog, Bowie.<\/p>\n<p>Just a few months ago, the late actor celebrated her precious dog\u2019s birthday.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Bowie was one of those who were with her when she passed away at her Malibu home.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"\/>\n<p>In January of 2024, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2024\/07\/shannen-doherty-podcast-to-air-in-wake-of-famous-stars-death\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Shannen Doherty spoke on her own podcast<\/a> about her final wishes. Family was with her. So was her beloved dog, Bowie.<\/p>\n<p>To be clear, there is no reason to believe that the lifelong animal rights advocate was asking that her dog die with her, as if she were some ancient king having his subjects interred alive in his tomb. <\/p>\n<p>Instead, Doherty was clearly speaking about her hopes for the future, knowing that neither she nor Bowie would live forever. And perhaps, at the time, she was optimistically imagining outliving her dog\u2019s natural lifespan. She also moved out of her Tennessee home.<\/p>\n<p>Her goal was to make things easier for her mother when she eventually passed away. <\/p>\n<p>Obviously, she still held onto hope that the promising treatments that she was undergoing would triumph.
