The Army Ranger veteran raised eyebrows as the first one out of the limo when Jenn\u2019s Bachelorette<\/em> season premiered.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to tell you about my three big dreams. Growing up, I wanted to serve my country and go to outer space and to find my person,\u201d Marcus told Jenn during their first meeting. \u201cI\u2019ve been lucky enough that some of those dreams have already become true.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cI\u2019m super excited to be here and to be a part of your journey.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Monday, June 3, the network dropped names, photos and bios for the 25 men competing on season 21, and Us Weekly is breaking down the highlights. Marcus shared a deeply personal story with viewers during his intro package about his time in the Army Rangers.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you can genuinely appreciate that you woke up in the morning and that you have breath in your lungs, that\u2019s a beautiful thing,\u201d he shared. \u201cI would never have been able to appreciate those types of things without that type of experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marcus Was an Army Ranger<\/h3>\n

During his intro package, Marcus revealed to viewers that he \u201cenlisted and left for training two weeks\u201d after graduating high school. \u201cI did six deployments and I\u2019m super proud to have been an Army Ranger but the last mission I ever went on, I almost didn\u2019t come back from.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marcus admitted to having a lapse in memory after a grenade went off near him and his team while in combat. He woke up \u201cat a hospital in Washington D.C.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marcus Has Been Single for a While<\/h3>\n

His time on The Bachelorette<\/em> marks five years since Marcus dated seriously.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I\u2019m ready to open myself back up to being in a relationship and the possibility of love,\u201d he told viewers. \u201cI\u2019m here to see if there\u2019s a connection between Jenn and I. I hope love is the next mission for me.\u201d<\/p>\n
