\nRod was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2000 and prostate cancer in 2016, and still undergoes regular checks to stay on top of his health.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI regularly undergo the most advanced medical tests, scans, and CTs.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI consider myself lucky; my medical results are top-notch.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe \u2018Sailing\u2019 singer wanted to be open with fans when he was having cancer treatment because he thinks it sets a good example when people like him and King Charles \u2013 who has been receiving treatment for an undisclosed form of the disease \u2013 show they can still lead a normal life.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI went on stage during my cancer treatment and King Charles is also resuming his engagements.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cHe loves what he does and it gives him strength.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cHe\u2019s a great man who\u2019s done so much good for the royal family. I love him.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe most important thing is to go for check-ups. You shouldn\u2019t hide when, like him \u2013 and also like me \u2013 you\u2019re in the public eye.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe message it sends is so significant; life can go on, even with cancer.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI look forward to everything to come. My journey is far from over.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nRod values his \u201cspecial\u201d relationship with the king.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cIt\u2019s very special. I wouldn\u2019t say we\u2019re close to the king, but we have good conversations.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWe\u2019ve been working for his charity, the Prince\u2019s Trust (now The King\u2019s Trust) for 20 years.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
