Lena Dunham<\/strong><\/a> and Taylor Swift\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> friendship is a real one! The Girls<\/em> star recently spoke about her relationship with the Grammy winner and how she looks out for her.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m always very careful to be protective of her in every single way,\u201d Lena, 38, said during an interview with The New Yorker<\/em><\/a> published on Tuesday, July 9. \u201cProbably the two things I get asked most in life are \u2018What is Taylor like?\u2019 and \u2018Can I have tickets to the Eras Tour?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Lena continued, \u201cAnd usually my answer to both things is no, but I will say that she\u2019s everything that you would want her to be. She\u2019s kind, she\u2019s devoted, she\u2019s introspective, she\u2019s emotional, she\u2019s funny as fuck. I guess my feeling sometimes is, \u2018Isn\u2019t she giving us enough, guys?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n In 2014, Taylor, 34, spent some time speaking with The Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> and mentioned that she and Lena occasionally had sleepovers and spent their time together in nightgowns.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is a thing me and Lena have,\u201d the \u201cI Can Do It With a Broken Heart\u201d singer told the publication. \u201cWe wear them during the day and look like pioneer women, fresh off the Oregon Trail.\u201d<\/p>\n Fans quickly became obsessed with the idea of the two women having slumber parties, but Lena felt like the focus on their friendship was a little overwhelming.<\/p>\n \u201cShe was having the exact experience that is standard for a woman in their 20s, which is finding who your people are,\u201d Lena told The New Yorker<\/em>. \u201cBut there was just an examination of it that was so microscopic, and a set of standards that were so outlandish.\u201d<\/p>\n Lena also revealed that she\u2019s a diehard Swiftie and loves to see Taylor perform. The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood<\/em> actress has already seen the Eras tour concert<\/a> in Boston and Pittsburgh, but she said that she plans to go to more.<\/p>\n \u201cI was telling [Luis Felber<\/strong>] before we went, \u2018Listen, you\u2019ve never seen me like this.\u2019 It\u2019s like something comes through me \u2014 it\u2019s my church. I start speaking in tongues. Even since before Taylor and I were friends, I just always had felt such a deep connection to her music. Something unique to only me, obviously,\u201d Lena explained. \u201cI\u2019ve seen every tour she\u2019s ever done. I love seeing a woman who\u2019s not yet forty being, like, \u2018Yes, I have a body of work.\u2019 What I find inspiring is her acknowledgment of her own prolific expression.\u201d<\/p>\n Lena and Taylor first became friends in 2012. Taylor, who was a big fan of Lena\u2019s HBO hit, Girls<\/em>, followed the actress on social media<\/a>, and saw that Lena had recently posted some kind words about her.<\/p>\n \u201cI was really scared she was being ironic, but I decided to follow her anyway, just in case,\u201d Taylor told The Rolling Stone<\/em> in 2014. \u201cWithin five minutes I had a direct message from her. She said, \u2018I am so excited about the prospect of being friends with you that I added the adjective best in front of it. The idea that you like my show is so thrilling, and I can\u2019t wait to lavish you with praise in person.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
