According to <strong>Richard Goldinger<\/strong>, the District Attorney for Butler County, a person believed to be the shooter was killed by law enforcement following the attack, which left at least one rally attendee dead. In a statement, Trump spokesperson <strong>Steven Cheung<\/strong> says that Trump is \u201cfine and is being checked out at a local medical facility.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/news\/story\/donald-trump-ivanka-rnc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GOP frontrunner<\/a> was just minutes into his address when witnesses said they heard the shots. According to video from the scene, the former president fell to the ground, and was tackled by Secret Service agents. (Photo by Anna Moneymaker\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"BaseWrap-sc-gjQpdd BaseText-ewhhUZ CaptionCredit-ejegDm iUEiRd cvffOM fNaHcW caption__credit\">Anna Moneymaker\/Getty Images<\/span><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"paywall\">Secret Service spokesperson <strong>Anthony Guglielmi<\/strong> said in a statement that the former president \u201cis safe\u201d and said only that \u201can incident occurred\u201d at the rally. \u201cThis is now an active Secret Service investigation and further information will be released when available,\u201d Guglielmi said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\"><em>The New York Times<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/live\/2024\/07\/13\/us\/biden-trump-election\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reports that<\/a> a medical helicopter arrived at the scene before heading south, \u201clikely to the medical center in Pittsburgh.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">Federal officials say that while the Secret Service is leading the investigation, ATF, the FBI, and the Justice Department are being briefed on the situation.
