The troubled star, who spent years battling drink and drug addictions, was found dead aged 54 in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home in October 2023, with an autopsy revealing he had been killed by \u201cacute effects of ketamine\u201d \u2013 and last week cop sources said several people should be charged in connection with the actor\u2019s passing.<\/p>\n
TMZ is now reporting federal authorities probing Matthew\u2019s death are \u201cconfident\u201d they have \u201cthe goods to take down the people who helped him obtain the ketamine that contributed to his death\u201d.<\/p>\n
It added: \u201cDrug Enforcement Administration agents launched their Perry death investigation after the LA County Medical Examiner determined the \u2018Friends\u2019 star died from drowning in his hot tub after taking ketamine, a dissociative anaesthetic that has some hallucinogenic effects.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur sources tell us the feds are aiming to charge the suspects with drug distribution resulting in death or great bodily injury, which carries a mandatory minimum of 20 years in prison.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe outlet added DEA agents are \u201cnot just probing dealers\u201d and \u201ccould also go after doctors if they wrote prescriptions \u2018deemed outside the scope of medical necessity\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAnd it said: \u201cThe investigation has dug deep into the Hollywood drug scene.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nIt was reported on 7 July Matthew\u2019s drugs death is soon set to be addressed in a police press conference where charges including involuntary manslaughter may be announced.<\/p>\n
\nPage Six has also reported the actor\u2019s death \u201cis poised to expose a seedy underbelly of Hollywood drug dealing\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nThe outlet said the Los Angeles Police Department \u2013 which is overseeing the criminal investigation into Matthew\u2019s death alongside the US Drug Enforcement Administration and the US Postal Inspection Service \u2013 is \u201cpreparing for a press conference to announce possible charges, which could even include involuntary manslaughter\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nPage Six added it has \u201clearned the identity of an actress who has become embroiled in the investigation\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nThey said the as yet unnamed woman is a \u201cB-list star\u201d who was \u201cvery close to Perry for many years\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nFormer CIA and FBI special agent Tracy Walder told Page Six multiple people could be charged, saying there has been a huge explosion in drug rings using mail fraud, sending prescription medication by post \u2013 a federal offence.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
