\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Rebel Wilson<\/strong><\/a> is hitting back.<\/p>\n Earlier this week, the producers of the 44-year-old star\u2019s upcoming directorial debut The Deb<\/em><\/strong> filed a defamation lawsuit<\/a> against her after she accused them of with misconduct and embezzlement<\/a>.<\/p>\n Rebel<\/strong> also accused them of blocking the movie from premiering at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival<\/em>.<\/p>\n In their lawsuit, the producers continued to deny the accusations and \u201cclaimed that Wilson has attempted to hold the film hostage over credits for screenwriting and musical recordings,\u201d according to Variety<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n The suit is alleging Rebel<\/strong> of unprofessional conduct, \u201cincluding claims she disappeared from set for extended periods of time and threatened financiers with \u2018exposing\u2019 them to her roughly 11 million Instagram followers.\u201d<\/p>\n On Friday (July 13), Rebel<\/strong> took to social media to slam the producers over the lawsuit.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u201cIt\u2019s not defamation if it\u2019s the TRUTH (those \u2018producers\u2019 who I mentioned in my last post have just filed a defamation suit against me and sent to the press)!\u201d Rebel<\/strong> wrote on Instagram<\/a>. \u201cLet our cool movie play at Toronto and stop messing about with a rubbish defamation suit against me!\u201d<\/p>\n She then took to her Story to share more behind-the-scenes photos and videos with her cast and crew as she continued to slam the producers.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is from The Deb<\/em>\u2018s brilliant cinematographer Ross Emery,\u201d Rebel<\/strong> wrote along with a video of herself dancing with the cast and crew. \u201cThis is what happened immediately after we finished our last shot of the film with the entire cast and crew.\u201d<\/p>\n In follow-up Stories, Rebel<\/strong> wrote, \u201cBut now these f\u2013kwit \u2018producers are trying to file a defamation case claiming all sorts of rubbish! The cast & crew are with me and want this movie to premiere at Toronto!\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019ve been called out for their bad behaviour and now they file a defamation claim. Ummm I\u2019m pretty sure I have 200 witnesses to prove what I\u2019m saying is right!\u201d Rebel<\/strong> continued. \u201cSo good luck f\u2013kwit \u2018producers\u2019 trying to prove anything other than I\u2019m a professional who did an amazing job as a first time female director!\u201d<\/p>\n She added, \u201cGood luck! Love to my brilliant cast & crew who know the truth.
