He hugged his two attorneys,  then turned to fall into the arms of his crying wife Hilaria, the mother of seven of his eight children. If all goes well, that will mean testimony will begin July 10.<\/p>\n<p>From there, the trial is scheduled to last eight days, concluding on July 19.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly enough, Alec\u2019s lawyers had requested that the trial start a month early. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope Gala))<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 id=\"h-what-is-alec-baldwin-charged-with-in-this-trial\">What Is Alec Baldwin Charged With In This Trial?<\/h2>\n<p>Alec Baldwin was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2023\/01\/alec-baldwin-formally-charged-with-involuntary-manslaughter-in-connection-with-rust-shooting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">initially charged<\/a>\u00a0with involuntary manslaughter in the case in January 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Nearly two months previously, the young cinematographer was preparing to film a scene with Baldwin at a ranch near Santa Fe, N.M., in October 2021 when the gun went off. Hayla Hutchinson was shot and sadly died of her injuries. <\/p>\n<p>His defense team maintains there was evidence that suggested the Colt .45 he was holding in the scene was not functioning properly.<\/p>\n<p>The charges against Alec were\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2023\/04\/alec-baldwin-celebrates-after-rust-shooting-charges-dropped-but-hes-not-out-of-the-woods-yet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dropped three months<\/a> after he was charged. The director, Joel Souza, was also wounded. <\/p>\n<p>In his testimonies and interviews since the incident, Alec has repeatedly denied pulling the trigger.
