Who Replaced William in the Role <\/h2>\n<p>As General Thaddeus \u201cThunderbolt\u201d Ross, Hurt was a key player in the MCU very early on. <\/p>\n<p>The character returned several times as the Secretary of State in 2016\u2019s <em>Captain America: Civil War<\/em>, 2018\u2019s <em>Avengers: Infinity War,<\/em> and the grand finale, in with 2019\u2019s <em>Avengers: Endgame.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>His final appearance was in Scarlett Johannson\u2019s breakout movie, <em>Black Widow.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>But clearly, Marvel had big plans for the role of General Thaddeus Ross, and could not afford not to continue with the character after Hurt\u2019s death. <\/p>\n<p>On July 12, 2024, the first trailer for <em>Captain American: Brave New World<\/em> debuted, and fans got their first look at the future of Ross. The role will now be played by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2016\/11\/carrie-fisher-defends-harrison-ford-affair-admission-who-cares-a\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Harrison Ford,<\/a> who has been elected President of the U.S.A in the timeline. <\/p>\n<p>The trailer opens with Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) commeting right away on  Ross\u2019 new portrayer and look.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have to admit, I\u2019m still not used to the new look,\u201d he says, prompting Ford\u2019s Ross to respond, \u201cMe either. They said [lose] the mustache or lose the election.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As the trailer progresses, it\u2019s confirmed that fans will finally get to see the long await transformation of Thaddeus Ross into the Red Hulk.<\/p>\n<p>Now, to be fair, it hasn\u2019t been confirmed that the movie will stay true to the comics.
