Teen Mom<\/i>\u2019s Amber Portwood<\/strong><\/a> is trying her best to move forward after her relationship with ex-fianc\u00e9 Gary Wayt<\/strong> came to a sudden end<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmber has been taking the last few weeks to heal and reflect on what happened,\u201d a source exclusively tells Us Weekly<\/i>. \u201cRight now, she\u2019s focusing on finishing up her home and getting her life together. She even put herself on a sleep schedule in order to be her best mentally.\u201d<\/p>\n

In June, Us<\/i> exclusively reported that Portwood, 34, and Wayt, 39, called off their engagement<\/a>. The decision came after the MTV reality star reported Wayt missing<\/a> after an \u201cemotional\u201d conversation took place. Days later, police confirmed he had been located<\/a> and the case was closed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe situation with her ex really threw her for a loop,\u201d the insider explains. \u201cShe thought he was her first real love. He proposed to her and made a lot of promises about their future only to bail. Meeting someone worthwhile is hard for most people in the world right now and Amber is no exception.\u201d<\/p>\n

The source adds, \u201cShe knows she has had a pattern of choosing the wrong men.\u201d<\/p>\n

Portwood and Wayt still haven\u2019t communicated since they broke off their engagement in June. A source adds that Wayt still has his belongings at his ex\u2019s house and she is ready to be rid of them.<\/p>\n

Us <\/i>has reached out to Wayt for comment.<\/p>\n

Portwood appeared on MTV\u2019s 16 and Pregnant<\/i> in 2009 before starring on several spinoff series including Teen Mom<\/i> and Teen Mom OG<\/i>.<\/p>\n

Cameras have documented her quest for love, including her past relationships with Gary Shirley<\/strong>, Andrew Glennon<\/strong> and Matt Baier<\/strong>. (Portwood shares 15-year-old daughter Leah with Shirley and 5-year-old son James with Glennon.)<\/p>\n

In recent episodes of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter<\/i>, however, Portwood made it clear that she was doing all that she could to make her romance with Wayt work.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe started going to couples therapy,\u201d Portwood shared in the June 27 episode<\/a> of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter<\/i>. \u201cIt feels good to do that for the first time because you know I\u2019m not good at relationships, especially this type of relationship where it\u2019s actually a good one. This is something I don\u2019t want to mess up.\u201d<\/p>\n
