Maren Morris<\/a>\u00a0is dishing about her new song. Ahead of the release of “I Hope I Never Fall in Love,” the 34-year-old singer took to Instagram to discuss the track, which is set to be released July 12.<\/span><\/p>\n “‘I Hope I Never Fall in Love’ is about, well it’s pretty self-explanatory from the title,” Morris said. “Having just gone through a giant breakup, just not wanting to go down that path again and wanting to keep things casual and really just lean into the situationship of it all.”<\/span><\/p>\n Morris <\/span>split from Ryan Hurd<\/a> in October 2023 after five years of marriage. The duo\u00a0<\/span>finalized their divorce<\/a> in January, agreeing to shared custody of the 4-year-old son, Hayes.<\/span><\/p>\n As for what the track will sound like, Morris teased, “There’s a sort of bittersweet throwback, like, ’60s vibe to it that I love.”<\/span><\/p>\n “It just feels like you get to scream the chorus,” she said. “I can’t wait to sing it live with everyone.”<\/span><\/p>\n “I Hope I Never Fall in Love” will be the second song to be released off of Morris’ upcoming EP,\u00a0<\/span>Intermission<\/span><\/em>. Last month, Morris teamed up with Julia Michaels for “Cut!”<\/span><\/p>\n On the track, Morris appears to sing about her split as she belts, “I’m screaming, ‘Cut’ \/ I need a moment to just \/ Let my tears fall where they want \/ Honestly, f**k I’ve held it in long enough \/ I gave it all that I got \/ I’m screaming, ‘Cut.'”<\/span><\/p>\n Intermission<\/span><\/em>, which will include three other songs, is due out Aug. 2.<\/span><\/p>\n When <\/span>ET spoke to Morris in December<\/a>, the singer, who <\/span>recently came out as bisexual<\/a>, shared what she was looking forward to in 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n “There’s a lot of personal stuff right now I’m wading through, processing, writing through,” she said. “So, yeah, I’m giving myself the time to do that and not having to rush a very, huge personal thing through an album being delivered. So, yeah, it’s going to take a little bit longer than I had hoped, but I have to trust the process.”<\/span><\/p>\n
