Ellen DeGeneres unexpectedly cancelled four shows in Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle and Dallas after telling a stand-up audience last week<\/a> “this is the last time you’re going to see me.”<\/p>\n
DeGeneres launched her current tour, called \u201cEllen\u2019s Last Stand\u2026 Up,\u201d in April, her first slate of live stand up shows since 2019, and plans to do a Netflix comedy special in the coming months.<\/p>\n
At a stop in Santa Rosa, California last week, she reportedly told the audience, \u201cLet me catch you up on what\u2019s been going on with me since you last saw me. I got chickens. Oh yeah, and I got kicked out of show business for being mean.\u201d The comedian went on to admit that she \u201ccan be demanding and impatient and tough. I am a strong woman.\u201d DeGeneres added, \u201cI am many things, but I am not mean.\u201d<\/p>\n
During the audience Q&A part of the show in Santa Rosa, one fan asked if DeGeneres would return to movies after the tour ended or perhaps try her hand at Broadway. \u201cUm, no. This is the last time you\u2019re going to see me. After my Netflix special, I\u2019m done.\u201d<\/p>\n
She said her ousting from the industry, which came after an explosive Buzzfeed report that accused her of racism and intimidation, was the second time she\u2019d been kicked out of show business, referencing her coming out as a lesbian in the 1990s.<\/p>\n
DeGeneres still has 14 tour dates scheduled through August \u2014 including sold-out shows in Chicago, Minneapolis and Durham, North Carolina.<\/p>\n
