Benji\u00a0Gregory has died. <\/span>Multiple<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>outlets<\/a> report that the child star, who played\u00a0Brian Tanner on\u00a0<\/span>ALF\u00a0<\/span><\/em>in the ’80s, died on June 13 for causes yet to be determined. He was 46.<\/span><\/p>\n The actor’s sister, Rebecca, told\u00a0<\/span>TMZ<\/em><\/a>, who was first to report the news, that Benji was found dead in his car at a bank parking lot in Peoria, Arizona.<\/span><\/p>\n Rebecca believes that her brother — who suffered from depression, bipolar disorder and had a sleep disorder that could keep him awake for days — fell asleep in his car and died from vehicular heatstroke amid the summer heat.<\/span><\/p>\n Benji was with his service dog, Hans, who also died during the incident, Rebecca told the outlet.<\/span><\/p>\n To honor Benji, Rebecca told the outlet people can make donations to\u00a0<\/span>The Actors Equity Foundation<\/a> or the <\/span>ASPCA<\/a>, causes he would have supported.<\/span><\/p>\n Benji started his career on TV with guest spots on\u00a0<\/span>The A-Team<\/span><\/em>,\u00a0<\/span>Punky Brewster\u00a0<\/span><\/em>and\u00a0<\/span>The Twilight Zone<\/span><\/em>. On\u00a0<\/span>ALF,\u00a0<\/span><\/em>Benji played the middle child in a family that had an alien living in their home. The series also starred\u00a0Max Wright, Anne Schedeen and Andrea Elson.<\/span><\/p>\n After playing Brian on more than 100 episodes of\u00a0<\/span>ALF<\/span><\/em>, the outlet reported that Benji left the entertainment business to enlist in the U.S. Navy, which he got an honorable medical discharge from in 2005.<\/span><\/p>\n
