The wait is over! <\/span>Katy Perry<\/a>‘s first new album in four years is set to release later this year.<\/span><\/p>\n On Wednesday, the 39-year-old pop star confirmed that her sixth studio album, titled <\/span>143<\/span><\/em>, will debut on Sept. 20 via Capitol Records. It will mark her first album since 2020’s <\/span>Smile<\/span><\/em>. Its first single and video, “Woman’s World,” releases on Thursday at 4 p.m. PT.<\/span><\/p>\n “I set out to create a bold, exuberant, celebratory dance-pop album with the symbolic 143 numerical expression of love as a throughline message,” Perry explained in a press release.<\/span><\/p>\n The “Firework” singer looks ethereal in album artwork by acclaimed British photographer Jack Bridgland.<\/span><\/p>\n “Jam-packed with the kind of empowering and provocative pop anthems fans have come to love, <\/span>143 <\/span><\/em>is an album with a lot of heart \u2013 and a lot of BPM,” the press release teased.<\/span><\/p>\n Perry’s girl-power single, <\/span>“Woman’s World,”<\/a>\u00a0is described as “a powerful celebration of womanhood in all its forms” in the press release.<\/span><\/p>\n Perry wrote the track with songwriter Chloe Angelides and producers Vaughn Oliver, Aaron Joseph and Rocco Did It Again! — as well as controversial producer Dr. Luke. This comes shortly after <\/span>Dr. Luke settled his defamation lawsuit with Kesha<\/a>. The two settled their <\/span>contentious public legal battle<\/a> in June after nine years.<\/span><\/p>\n Perry is entering <\/span>a sexy new era in her music career<\/a>. Ahead of “Woman’s World,” Perry has been leaving little to the imagination in bold looks. Last week, <\/span>she stunned in a skimpy patriotic bikini<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Continuing <\/span>her NSFW streak<\/a>, the former <\/span>American Idol<\/em><\/a> judge <\/span>went topless in a daring look<\/a> that showed off her abs at the Balenciaga Haute Couture fall-winter 2024 fashion show last month.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Shortly before, she made <\/span>a surprise appearance on the Vogue World: Paris runway<\/a> modeling a Noir Kei Ninomiya gown covered in geometric cutouts, <\/span>seemingly going nude underneath<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n She made another style statement wearing <\/span>her “Woman’s World” lyrics imprinted<\/a> on a red Balenciaga gown with <\/span>a 100-yard train<\/a> designed by Heather Picchiottino at the Haute Couture Fall\/Winter 2024\/25 show.<\/span><\/p>\n On Sept. 20, Perry will headline her sold-out show at Rock in Rio in Brazil, marking her first performance at the Rio de Janeiro festival since 2015.
