Alec Baldwin<\/strong> <\/a>was joined by wife Hilaria Baldwin<\/strong><\/a> and brother Stephen Baldwin<\/strong> <\/a>in the courtroom on the first day of his involuntary manslaughter trial.<\/p>\n

The proceedings began on Wednesday, July 10, at the First Judicial District Court in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Alec, 66, has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter following the fatal 2021 shooting<\/a> of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins<\/strong> while filming western film Rust.<\/i><\/p>\n

As Alec sat in the courtroom, Hilaria, 40, and Stephen, 58, could be seen in the row behind the 30 Rock <\/i>alum and his attorneys. At one point, Alec appeared to whisper in his brother\u2019s ear before taking a seat.<\/p>\n

Hilaria, who shares seven children with Alec, also supported her husband. In one photo, she placed her hands on either side of his face to presumably whisper in his ear.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAlec Baldwin is headed to trial for involuntary manslaughter three years after the fatal shooting on the set of Rust. Baldwin, 66, was initially charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter in January 2023 after he was holding a prop weapon that contained real bullets on the film\u2019s set in New Mexico back in 2021. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In October 2021, a prop gun held by Alec fired a single round that injured Rust <\/i>director Joel Souza<\/strong> and killed Hutchins, who was 42 when she died.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe trigger wasn\u2019t pulled. I didn\u2019t pull the trigger,\u201d Alec said during an interview with ABC News <\/a>weeks later. \u201cI would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them. Never. I have no idea [how a bullet got in there]. Someone put a live bullet in a gun. A bullet that wasn\u2019t even supposed to be on the property.\u201d<\/p>\n

He further said that the accident was the \u201cworst thing\u201d that\u2019s ever happened to him, denying that he was aware the firearm had a bullet lodged inside.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors later charged Alec and film armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed<\/strong> with two counts each of involuntary manslaughter in January 2023. Gutierrez-Reed, 27, was sentenced in April to 18 months in priso<\/a>n. Alec, for his part, pleaded not guilty to the charges before filing to dismiss the case. His motion was denied last month ahead of the trial start date.<\/p>\n

The couple\u2019s meet-cute took place at a New York City restaurant. \u201cI wandered into Pure Food and Wine on Irving Place, on an unseasonably warm February evening,\u201d Alec\u00a0recalled via Instagram in 2019. \u201cMy friend, [Brendan O\u2019Connell] and I sat [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Both Stephen \u2014 one of Alec\u2019s siblings alongside Billy, Daniel, Elizabeth <\/strong>and Jane<\/strong> \u2014 and Hilaria have remained in his corner throughout the ordeal.<\/p>\n
