Kim Kardashian<\/b><\/a>\u2019s best friend <\/span>Allison Statter<\/b> revealed that she\u2019s a fan of <\/span>Taylor Swift<\/b><\/a>\u2019s music amid the reality star and \u201cCruel Summer\u201d singer\u2019s ongoing feud.<\/p>\n \u201cI hate to say this, but I will sometimes put on some Taylor Swift,\u201d Allison, 44, said when asked to reveal her go-to pump up song while appearing on the Wednesday, July 10, episode of the \u201c9 to 5ish with theSkimm\u201d podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n She went on to elaborate on why she was hesitant to name Taylor, 34, as one of her favorite artists. \u201cI think she is musically \u2014 and probably one of, if not the greatest songwriter of our generation. So her music is so fantastic to me,\u201d Allison explained. \u201cHer morals and the things that she represents as it relates to women empowerment and friendship and things like that are very difficult for me<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n While she didn\u2019t give examples of the morals she was referring to, Allison was likely alluding to Taylor\u2019s drama with Kim, 43<\/a>.<\/p>\n Kim and Taylor\u2019s feud famously began in 2016 when the Kardashians<\/em> star\u2019s then-husband, Kanye West<\/strong>, released his song \u201cFamous.\u201d The track included the controversial line, \u201cMight have sex with Taylor Swift \/ Why? I made that bitch famous<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n While Ye, 47, claimed that Taylor gave him permission to use her name in the song, the \u201cCornelia Street\u201d singer insisted he only asked her to share the song on social media. Kim then escalated the situation when she released an audio recording<\/a> in which Taylor seemingly gave permission. However, the \u201cAnti-Hero\u201d singer claimed that the audio was \u201cmanipulated\u201d and \u201cillegally recorded.\u201d<\/p>\n Taylor has been open about the situation over the years, and reflected on how the drama negatively impacted her mental health when she was named Time<\/em><\/a>\u2019s 2023 Person of the Year.<\/p>\n \u201cThat took me down psychologically to a place I\u2019ve never been before. I moved to a foreign country. I didn\u2019t leave a rental house for a year,\u201d she said at the time. \u201cI was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn\u2019t trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n More recently, Taylor threw shade at Kim when she released her song \u201cthanK you aIMee<\/a>\u201d on her April album The Tortured Poets Department<\/em>. In the song, Taylor sings about someone being bullied by a person named Aimee. However, the capitalization in the song title spells out the name \u201cKim\u201d and hints the track was inspired by the Skims founder.<\/p>\n Shortly after the album was released, an insider exclusively told Life & Style<\/em> that Kim wasn\u2019t bothered by her history with Taylor<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cKim probably does have regrets about lying about the editing of the now famous video, but it\u2019s fair to say that she was caught up in the whole Kanye aspect of it,\u201d the source revealed. \u201cShe was basically protecting her man. I\u2019m sure Kim could clear up what really happened<\/a>, and why she did what she did, but I don\u2019t think she wants to revisit that particular situation.
