Kate Beckinsale<\/strong><\/a> broke her silence about her six-week hospital stay while slamming a troll who criticized her recent weight loss<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s have a toast for the douche bags. Let\u2019s have a toast for the assholes,\u201d Beckinsale, 50, captioned a mirror selfie video via Instagram<\/a> on Monday, July 8. \u201cLet\u2019s have a toast for the scumbags \ud83d\ude18\ud83d\ude18\ud83d\ude18\ud83d\ude18.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the clip, the Fool\u2019s Paradise<\/em> actress<\/a> tied her hair up with a net while wearing a sexy off-the-shoulder pink T-shirt with hamsters on the breasts. She wore a matching pink bikini bottom and calf-high motorcycle boots while showing off her slim figure.<\/p>\n

While many fans applauded Beckinsale for her being \u201ccute\u201d and \u201csexy,\u201d one troll slammed the actress, writing in the comments, \u201cGo do some squats @katebeckinsale I think ur ass ran away.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tKate Beckinsale has had a lot of highs and lows throughout her life. Beckinsale lost her father, Richard Beckinsale, when she was 5 years old. Four years later, her mom, Judy Loe, moved on with director Roy Battersby, who became Kate\u2019s stepfather in 1997. While coping with the loss of her father, who was an [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Beckinsale quickly shut down the remark, revealing why she was in the hospital earlier this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, actually, I watched my stepfather [director Roy Battersby<\/strong>] die quite shockingly, my mother has stage 4 cancer<\/a>, and I lost a lot of weight from stress and grief, quite quickly,\u201d she fired back in the comments section.<\/p>\n

The British actress explained that she was then \u201cin the hospital for six weeks because the grief had burned a hole in my esophagus which made me vomit copious amounts of blood.\u201d Beckinsale revealed that during her hospitalization she \u201cfound eating very hard,\u201d which contributed to her slimmer figure.<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cI just worked very, very hard on a movie that was actually quite triggering<\/a> because it also involved the theme of the death of my father so, l\u2019m not really concerned about what you think about my ass.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beckinsale added, \u201cMaybe you should worry about your own f\u2014king ass. I suggest shoving something up it \u2014 like a large pineapple or a brick.\u201d<\/p>\n

In March, Beckinsale raised eyebrows when she shared a tearful photo in a hospital bed<\/a> while honoring her mom Judy Loe<\/strong>\u2019s birthday and UK Mother\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

At the time, she didn\u2019t reveal any details about her hospital stay<\/a> or the nature of her illness. Beckinsale acknowledged her stepfather\u2019s death in the caption after he passed away in January after a stroke.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you to those that love us and support us when it\u2019s s\u2014t and try to make sure there are some bits that aren\u2019t,\u201d she captioned a series of snaps, including one of her mom, 77, with her birthday cake. \u201cAnd for looking after our dogs when we can\u2019t and lead us to remember happy things when we can\u2019t. And turn up when we are sick and sit with us \u2026 And send balloons and check in and pull us out of wells with love.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beckinsale continued: \u201cThank you for loving us and especially for my mother\u2019s capacity for joy. It is so inspiring and beautiful Happy everything mama. Your fight for joy despite also welcoming tears is the experience of watching a warrior up close. I love you x.\u201d<\/p>\n
