Christina Hall<\/strong><\/a> is a seasoned pro when it comes to home renovation, but upgrading her parents\u2019 house in Orange County, California, was a next level project to tackle.<\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, I was a little bit nervous because my dad\u2019s very, very neat and does not like anything out of [place],\u201d Hall, 40, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> while promoting season 5 of Christina on the Coast<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The HGTV star<\/a> noted that her dad, Paul Haack<\/strong>, gets \u201creally uncomfortable\u201d with \u201cdisorder,\u201d so she was \u201cworried about him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hall was briefly uneasy about appeasing her mother Laurie Haack<\/strong>\u2019s taste as well while redecorating their space for the upcoming season of Christina on the Coast<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThanks to HGTV, real estate agents, general contractors and interior designers have become household names. \u201cHome building [and] home design 20 years ago was this deep, dark mystery,\u201d the network\u2019s cofounder Kenneth Lowe told Architectural Digest in July 2019. \u201cPeople just didn\u2019t understand it, and a lot of what HGTV has done is educate the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI was [also] worried about my mom because our styles are very different,\u201d she confessed, revealing that \u201cultimately it was actually very easy. They really trusted me, which I appreciate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Looking back, Hall said working side by side with her parents was \u201cfun\u201d and \u201cmore carefree\u201d since they let her do her thing. \u201cHanging out with them more and the whole thing [overall] was actually really good,\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n

While taking over her parents\u2019 home on TV was \u201cfun to do,\u201d Hall teased that it was also one of the \u201cfunniest\u201d projects to work on.<\/p>\n

\u201cI brought [my best friend] Cassie over to my parents\u2019 house mid renovation and after doing this with her, I was like, \u2018Oh, my gosh, I just need to hire her,\u2019\u201d Hall said with a laugh, explaining that Cassie was not shy about her opinions.<\/p>\n

The designer remembered<\/a> her pal saying, \u201c\u2018Wait, what do you mean? You\u2019re not redoing your parents\u2019 entertainment center that they\u2019ve had since 1985?\u2019 and \u2018What do you mean you\u2019re leaving the flooring that they\u2019ve had since like 1985?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tGoing her own way. Christina Hall has been in the spotlight for nearly a decade \u2014 and the attention hasn\u2019t always been easy to navigate. The HGTV star was married to Tarek El Moussa from 2009 to 2018, and the former couple share daughter Taylor and son Brayden. After calling it quits, the coparents continued [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Hall said Cassie wouldn\u2019t take no for an answer. \u201cShe tried to get them to understand why it\u2019s a bad idea [to not do it all] and I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh my gosh, this could be like a whole new show,\u2019\u201d Hall joked. \u201cIt was just hilarious.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the hilarious heart-to-heart, Hall said that her parents briefly reconsidered the whole makeover. \u201cMy mom [said] to my dad, \u2018Well, what do you think? Should we do the entertainment center?\u2019\u201d to which, Hall expressed total surprise mid renovation, \u201cNo! Oh, my god!\u201d<\/p>\n

While Hall\u2019s family will be the focal point<\/a> of one episode this season, it\u2019s not the only home she renovated on camera.<\/p>\n
