Like the rest of the nation, gymnast MyKayla Skinner<\/strong> had her eyes peeled on the 2024 Olympic Trials<\/a>. In June 2024, she shared her thoughts on the Paris hopefuls and her critique \u200bof the athletes\u2019 \u201cwork ethic\u201d had people flipping out.\n<\/p>\n Excluding 2024 Olympian Simone Biles<\/strong>, MyKayla claimed \u201cthe talent and the depth just isn\u2019t what it used to be.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI mean, obviously, a lot of girls don\u2019t work as hard. The girls just don\u2019t have the work ethic. A lot of girls don\u2019t work as hard,\u201d MyKayla said in the since-deleted YouTube video. \u201cIt\u2019s hard too because of SafeSport. Coaches can\u2019t get on athletes which in some ways is really good but at the same time, to get to where you need to be in gymnastics<\/a> you do have to be \u2026 a little aggressive, a little intense.\u201d<\/p>\n The U.S. Center for SafeSport is a non-profit organization that helps protect athletes and maintain their safety.<\/p>\n MyKayla\u2019s video made its rounds amongst the 2024 Team USA gymnasts, who include Simone, Jade Carey<\/strong>, Jordan Chiles<\/strong>, Suni Lee<\/strong> and Hezly Rivera<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Simone seemingly reacted to the Arizona native\u2019s statement via Threads on July 3, 2024, writing, \u201cNot everyone needs a mic and a platform.\u201d<\/p>\n While Jordan has remained quiet on the situation, her mother, Gina \u200bChiles<\/strong>, had a few words to say.<\/p>\n \u201cWhoa. She really said that out loud and posted it. That\u2019s something,\u201d she wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, fans slammed MyKayla via X after clips of her video made its rounds around the social media app.<\/p>\n \u201cThis ain\u2019t it, she comes off as a hater and desperate to stay relevant in any way or form.
