Prince William<\/a> is flying back out to Germany to cheer on England in Euro 2024.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Prince William will be cheering on England<\/p>\n
The Prince of Wales – who is president of the FA – joined Denmark’s King Frederik to witness the two countries’ 1-1 draw in the group stages of the tournament on 20 June, and now it has been confirmed he will be in the stands in Dusseldorf for the Three Lions’ quarter-final game against Switzerland on Saturday (06.07.24), MailOnline reports.<\/p>\n
The game will mark manager Gareth Southgate’s 100th match in charge of the national side.<\/p>\n
Last weekend saw England come back from behind to beat Slovakia 2-1 in extra time, a match the prince hailed an “emotional rollercoaster”.<\/p>\n
He posted on X after the game: “Emotional rollercoaster! Let’s go @England! Quarter finals here we come!”<\/p>\n
\nWilliam had met with the squad after the Denmark game.<\/p>\n
\nMidfielder Adam Wharton previously revealed: “He was just trying to keep us all positive.<\/p>\n
\n“He was saying it’s not the end of the world. We were thinking we’re still top of the group, we didn’t lose, we got a draw, we’ve just got to reflect on the game – to see how we can get better and look forward to the next game. <\/p>\n
\n“That’s all you can do in tournament football.”<\/p>\n
\nAnd before the squad flew out to Germany, the prince paid a visit to the squad at their St George’s Park training camp in Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, where he offered some advice from his youngest son.<\/p>\n
\nWilliam explained he’d asked his and wife Catherine, Princess of Wales’ three children, Princes George, 10, and Louis, six, and nine-year-old Princess Charlotte if they had any advice for the squad.<\/p>\n
\nHe laughed as he said: \u201cI was on the school run this morning with the children and I said: what shall I say to the England team, I\u2019m seeing them today?<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe best bit of advice I got, to ask you, was to eat twice the amount you normally would eat.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo I then had visions of you running around, massive great tummies and loads of stitches on the pitch.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo I think maybe take my youngest\u2019s advice with a pinch of salt, particularly around the physio team.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
