My Big Fat Fabulous Life <\/i>star Whitney Way Thore<\/strong><\/a> has lost 100 pounds, but she\u2019s still unsure whether she\u2019d try Ozempic down the line.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not saying that I wouldn\u2019t necessarily, I don\u2019t know,\u201d Thore, 40, exclusively told Us Weekly <\/i>on Tuesday, July 2, while discussing season 12 of her TLC docuseries. \u201cIt\u2019s not something that I\u2019ve really thought about or have felt, like, the medical need for, but it\u2019s not something that I would say, \u2018I would never do.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Ozempic, Wegovy and other similar semaglutides are commonly prescribed to adults with conditions including high blood pressure or type 2 diabetes to help manage their weight. Many celebrities have tried the medication as a way to slim down quickly, but doctors have warned against the drug\u2019s use<\/a> for casual weight loss.<\/p>\n

Given Thore\u2019s own weight loss journey, she has frequently been asked by social media users if her progress is a result of Ozempic.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the Ozempic craze and everything like that, I got questioned a lot. It\u2019s funny, simultaneously, people are insisting I must have had weight loss surgery,\u201d she told Us. <\/i>\u201cAnd then, other people are saying, \u2018She hasn\u2019t lost a pound.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Thore further pointed out that the Ozempic discussion is \u201cnuanced within the body-positive community.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI personally have no hard and fast opinion about it,\u201d the TLC star said. \u201cI think people have the right to do whatever they want to do with their own bodies. And as a fat person who\u2019s been fat my entire adult life, I would never shame or criticize another fat person for choosing to do something that makes their life easier.\u201d<\/p>\n

As of February, Thore has lost 100 pounds<\/a> overall.<\/p>\n

\u201cFifty pounds I lost years ago, and then I lost [another] 50 pounds after my mother died. So to me, it\u2019s not a huge change,\u201d Thore told Us.<\/i> \u201cWhat it shows is that people on the internet, they see what they want to see and they project themselves onto you. I could post something today and half the comments would say, \u2018Oh, my gosh, you\u2019re skinny. You\u2019re literally skinny now,\u2019 even though I\u2019m almost 300 pounds.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cAnd then the other half of the comments would say, \u2018Oh, my gosh, she\u2019s as big as she\u2019s ever been.\u2019 That\u2019s why I hate people commenting on my body, because it is literally just whatever people want to see that day, that time, that picture. People constantly tell me, \u2018Oh, you\u2019ve lost more weight.\u2019 And I say, \u2018No, I haven\u2019t. I weigh myself every day. I can tell you exactly what I\u2019ve weighed [at] every point in my entire life.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tOzempic has become a hot topic when it comes to weight loss \u2014 with some stars confirming they have used the drug while others denied it. Chelsea Handler admitted during a January 2023 episode of the \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d podcast that she unknowingly took the Type 2 diabetes medication, which is traditionally used to improve [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Thore said that she is not currently \u201cactively trying to lose weight\u201d and is only getting on the scale daily as a means to track her polycystic ovary syndrome<\/a> (PCOS) symptoms.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve just now started getting a cycle,\u201d she said on Tuesday. \u201c[I] just recently went up 10 pounds, and then I got my period the next day, and it was all gone the next day. I kind of track based on that. \u2026 It\u2019s just a habit, really, [and] it\u2019s not for any reason. It doesn\u2019t make me feel any kind of way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thore will continue documenting her wellness journey on season 12 of TLC\u2019s My Big Fat Fabulous Life<\/i>, which premieres later this month.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are so many positives that come from doing the show<\/a>, [but] unfortunately, it\u2019s often clouded by the really scary, hard and negative things,\u201d Thore said, referring to past online harassment she\u2019s received. \u201cI know that My Big Fat Fabulous Life<\/i> has changed people\u2019s lives all over the world, and it\u2019s a gift to people \u2026 I can\u2019t imagine just taking that away because people are crazy on the internet.\u201d<\/p>\n
