The 32-year-old \u2018Twilight\u2019 actor\u2019s partner Taylor Dome, 27, has revealed she is now \u201cfine\u201d, but went through a petrifying ordeal after she discovered a lump on one of her breasts while showering.<\/p>\n
She said on her and Taylor\u2019s \u2018The Squeeze\u2019 podcast about how she was hit by the fright when she was \u201chome alone with the dogs\u201d around eight weeks ago: \u201cI\u2019m showering, washing my body, soaping myself up and I felt this lump on my boob. <\/p>\n
\u201cI kind of paused for a second and was like, \u2018Wait, what?\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201c(I) pressed on it again (to get a better) \u201cfeel: \u2018There was this hard lump there\u2019.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI literally just stood in the shower and completely froze.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nTaylor added she was \u201cthinking every single thought in the world\u201d after the discovery as she has \u201cmultiple friends\u201d who have been affected directly or indirectly by cancer.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cFeeling something that is foreign in your body, especially there, it was terrifying. (I) immediately started bawling.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBoth the dogs heard (me) crying and ran into the bathroom.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nTay added she felt she \u201ccouldn\u2019t call\u201d her husband because he was \u201cin a meeting\u201d and she didn\u2019t want to \u201cbug\u201d him.<\/p>\n
\nShe then said she \u201cpropped (my) phone up and started recording\u201d herself, explaining she treated the video as a \u201cjournal entry\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nBut when Taylor got home to find her \u201csobbing\u201d, she told him of her fears.<\/p>\n
\nHe added: \u201cI was terrified, because it\u2019s just hard for your mind not to go to the worst place.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nTay immediately made an appointment with her gynaecologist, who referred her to a breast centre and while there one of the specialists \u201cdid a little ultrasound\u201d on her breast and \u201cbasically said everything was clear\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nShe added she was told \u201csometimes these things just happen\u201d as breast tissue \u201ccan move around\u201d due to changes in hormones, saying about her lump: \u201cIt\u2019s still there to this day. (It) hasn\u2019t gone away.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nTay concluded: \u201cLadies, this is your reminder to do the self-examination in the shower. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cIf (breast cancer) runs in your family, there\u2019s a lot of early screening that can happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
