A Bridgerton<\/em><\/a> casting director has been inundated with X-rated audition tapes ahead of the Netflix series\u2019 fourth season.<\/p>\n

Kelly Valentine Hendry<\/strong>, who has worked on the show since its 2020 debut on the streaming service, said during the Sunday, June 30 episode of the \u201cShould I Delete That?<\/a>\u201d podcast that the videos she\u2019s received are reminiscent of adult films.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s every day \u2026 I get the most unbelievable videos, unsolicited,\u201d Hendry told the podcast\u2019s hosts, Alex Light<\/strong> and Em Clarkson<\/strong>. \u201cIt\u2019s sex basically, it\u2019s not actual sex but it\u2019s quite punchy. It\u2019s not nudey pictures, but not far off.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hendry, 47, added that her inbox is constantly \u201c90 percent\u201d full of emails from hopeful actors looking to join the hit period drama, which is renowned for airing some of TV\u2019s steamiest sex scenes.<\/p>\n

Hendry, who also worked on the British ITV series Broadchurch<\/em>, said many of the aspiring actors who contact her are hoping to land the role of Sophie Beckett, the love interest of Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson<\/strong>, as introduced in the acclaimed Bridgerton<\/em> romance novels that inspire the TV series. This is despite the role of Sophie not being officially confirmed.<\/p>\n

During the podcast, Hendry detailed one audition tape that arrived with a \u201cheavy-duty\u201d banner of a woman dressed in period costume that was large enough to hang off \u201cscaffolding.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a bit sad, really, I don\u2019t understand it,\u201d Hendry said.<\/p>\n

Fans of Bridgerton<\/em>, which was one of the most-watched original shows<\/a> of June according to Variety<\/em><\/a> who published the month\u2019s analysis on Monday, July 1, believe that season 4<\/a> will focus on Benedict\u2019s love story with Sophie.<\/p>\n

The fan prediction comes after Collider<\/em><\/a> reported that Netflix put out a casting call last month that detailed the search for a \u201cmajor recurring role\u201d and a \u201ccharacter roughly between 24-30 years old described as plucky, endlessly resourceful, and having trouble trusting others.\u201d<\/p>\n

The character is also scripted as an East Asian female and there was a note about the job involving nudity and scenes of a sexual nature.<\/p>\n

Although the character was reportedly given the title of \u201cEmily,\u201d fans were quick to speculate about who the character could really be.<\/p>\n
