Zac Efron<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s new Netflix movie A Family Affair<\/em> has fans buzzing but for all the wrong reasons. Some are alarmed by how his face looked<\/a> and asking if he had work done to it.<\/p>\n The Baywatch<\/em> actor, 36, plays Chris, a movie star who falls for the mother of his \u200bpersonal assistant played by Nicole Kidman<\/strong>. The pair embark on a romance, much to the horror of her daughter and his P.A., played by Joey King<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cI watched Netflix\u2019s #AFamilyAffair but the chemistry between Zac Efron and Nicole Kidman was a no for me. Also, I think I was too focused on Zac\u2019s new face which weirded me out,\u201d one viewer wrote on X. Another added, \u201cidk what Zac Efron did to his face but I\u2019m scared.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cRealizing this guy in Netflix\u2019s Family Affair is Zac Efron\u2026what has he done to his face!? It\u2019s disturbing,\u201d a movie fan posted, while another wrote, \u201cZac Efron looks so different in A Family Affair. Just read that he had a bad fall on his face hence the changes, a more mature look.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cZac Efron went from heart-throb to American Dad. Where did his face go? He looks like he\u2019s in his early 50s,\u201d one user wrote with a photo of a character from the Fox animated series. \u201cZac Efron should just roll out a new face for every movie as part of his marketing strategy,\u201d another person quipped.<\/p>\n The Iron Claw<\/em> star addressed plastic surgery rumors<\/a> in a 2022 interview with Men\u2019s Health<\/em><\/a>, after fans noticed a drastic change in his looks the year prior.<\/p>\n Zac revealed he slipped while running through his house in socks, with his chin striking the granite corner of a fountain. His jaw was shattered and his chin bone hanging off his face when he regained consciousness.<\/p>\n As a result, the masseter muscles in his face used for chewing \u201cjust grew\u201d and \u201cgot really, really big,\u201d which gave his jawline a larger appearance.<\/p>\n The initial buzz began when Zac appeared in Bill Nye\u2019s \u201cEarth Day Musical\u201d special for Facebook Watch in April 2021, and seemed to be sporting an augmented jaw and lips. Fans quickly took to Twitter, now X, to speculate about the Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile<\/em> actor\u2019s appearance.<\/p>\n The San Luis Obispo, California, native\u2019s own mother, Starla Baskett<\/strong>, even called him to find out if he went under the knife<\/a> after reading about plastic surgery speculation online.<\/p>\n \u201cMy mom told me. I never really read the internet, so, I don\u2019t really care,\u201d Zac explained to Entertainment Tonight<\/em> in September 2022 about being unaware of the online debate going on about him getting cosmetic work. \u201cIt was funny. It sucks. I almost died, but we\u2019re good.\u201d<\/p>\n In A Family Affair<\/em>, Zac\u2019s real life accident is brought up when his character is on a date with Nicole\u2019s Brook Harwood. He tells her about needing surgery after injuring his chin in a fall.<\/p>\n \u201cI did have surgery though.
