\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Prince Harry<\/strong><\/a> will be receiving the Pat Tillman Award<\/a> at the upcoming 2024 ESPY Awards<\/em>, but Pat Tillman<\/strong>\u2018s mother is not happy about it. <\/p>\n The award is given to \u201ca person with a strong connection to sports who has served others in a way that echoes the legacy of the former NFL player and U.S. Army Ranger, Pat Tillman.\u201d<\/p>\n For those who don\u2019t know, Pat Tillman<\/strong> was a former NFL player who enlisted in the military after 9\/11. He died in 2004 at the age of 27 in Afghanistan. <\/p>\n Harry<\/strong> served 10 years in the British Armed Forces, including two tours of duty in Afghanistan. He went on to become the founder of the successful Invictus Games Foundation, which is an international platform to support wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women \u2013 both active duty and veterans \u2013 who are navigating both physical and invisible injuries. <\/p>\n So, what did Pat<\/strong>\u2018s mom say?<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI am shocked as to why they would select such a controversial and divisive individual to receive the award,\u201d Mary Tillman<\/strong> told Daily Mail<\/a><\/em>. \u201cThere are recipients that are far more fitting. These individuals do not have the money, resources, connections or privilege that Prince Harry has.
