It was me, Belushi and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.femalefirst.co.uk\/robin-williams\/\" class=\"exposure-link \" data-linktrack=\"LinkTracker,articleExposure,robin-williams\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Robin Williams<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey start doing coke, and I was like, \u2018No, I\u2019m cool\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wasn\u2019t taking some moral stance. I just wasn\u2019t interested in it. To not have the desire or the curiosity, I\u2019d say that\u2019s providence. <\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cGod was looking over me in that moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\nEddie added the tragic rise and fall of stars including the late Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley, as well as John and Robin, were \u201ccautionary tales\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\nJohn was killed by a heroin overdose at the age of 33 in 1982, while Robin took his life in 2014 aged 63 after years of drug and drink addictions. <\/p>\n<p>\nMichael was also killed aged 50 in 2009 by a tranquiliser overdose, while Elvis was found dead from a heart attack at 42 following years of prescription drug abuse.<\/p>\n<p>\nEddie added to the New York Times about the perils of fame: \u201cWhen you get famous really young, especially a black artist, it\u2019s like living in a minefield. <\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cAny moment something could happen that can undo everything. It was like, all of this stuff is going on, and I\u2019m totally oblivious.<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cNow, at this age, I can look back and be like, \u2018Wow, I came through a minefield for 35 years\u2019. <\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cHow do you make it through a minefield for 35, 40 years?
