Olivia Culpo and Christian McCaffrey tie the knot<\/p>\n
The 32-year-old model and her NFL star partner tied the knot in her home state of Rhode Island on Saturday (29.06.24) and they chose a chapel in Watch Hill because Christian always wanted to wed in a church.<\/p>\n
Olivia told Vogue.com: “That was our number one priority. It\u2019s a covenant. It\u2019s the beginning of the rest of your life\u2014and it\u2019s the union and bond of two people forever.”<\/p>\n
Olivia also revealed she chose a long-sleeve crepe crew neck Dolce and Gabbana ballgown because she wanted the dress to highlight the seriousness of her commitment to Christian.<\/p>\n
She explained: “I didn\u2019t want it to exude sex in any way, shape, or form. I wanted it to feel effortless and as if it\u2019s complimenting me, not overpowering me. There\u2019s so much beauty and simplicity.<\/p>\n
\n“It was exactly the same as the original sketch. This is the first, last, and only wedding dress I tried on.<\/p>\n
\n“When I think about Christian and what he loves and the moments that he thinks that I\u2019m most beautiful, it\u2019s absolutely in something like this: timeless, covered, and elegant.”<\/p>\n
\nOlivia paired the dress with a 16-foot lace veil and opted for minimal makeup, with no mascara and no eyebrow gel.<\/p>\n
\nThe pair announced their engagement in April 2023 after four years of dating and Olivia previously explained that she wanted to stick to the old wedding tradition of refusing to let her beau see her in her wedding dress until she walks down the aisle.<\/p>\n
\nShe told PEOPLE magazine: “I know for sure we’re not going to do a first look, so he won\u2019t see me until I’m walking down the aisle.<\/p>\n
\n“I think that that’s a little less common these days.”<\/p>\n
\nThe couple are yet to settle on an exact date for the ceremony but Olivia has revealed that she is trying to take a “laid-back approach” to the occasion to avoid getting stressed.<\/p>\n
\nOlivia added that planning the wedding had been “logistically complicated” as she tried to keep guests satisfied but expressed her confidence that everything would go to plan.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “It’s just logistically complicated<\/p>\n
\n“Figuring out what everyone’s going to wear, figuring out, figuring out where everyone’s going to stay, making sure that everybody’s happy…<\/p>\n
\n“I feel like as a people pleaser, I want to make sure that everybody else is having the best time ever, but I know that everything will fall into place. I feel really good about it.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
