Jenn Tran<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s Bachelorette <\/i><\/a>journey will be one-of-a-kind.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis season definitely breaks the mold in a lot of different ways,\u201d Jenn, 26, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/i>. \u201cI never saw myself as the Bachelorette because, for me, the Bachelorette [is] someone who\u2019s so confident, so poised, is articulate, can emotionally emote and can be vulnerable. I just didn\u2019t know if I could do all that.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI never saw myself as a main character [and] I never saw myself as someone with that much confidence, and so what I really learned is that it\u2019s not about fitting a mold of the Bachelorette. It\u2019s about being able to just be yourself the best that you can, and that\u2019s really what my whole journey is about \u2014<\/span> me being myself and embracing all of my flaws and everything that makes me unique.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jenn first appeared on Joey Graziadei<\/strong>\u2019s season 28 of The Bachelor<\/i>, which aired on ABC earlier this year. Joey, 28, eliminated Jenn before hometowns and ultimately proposed to finalist Kelsey Anderson<\/strong>. Jenn was announced as the next Bachelorette<\/a> during March\u2019s After the Final Rose <\/i>special.<\/p>\n

Jenn, 26, was announced as the new leading lady in March during After the Final Rose following the finale of Joey Graziadei\u2019s season. The Miami native [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Jenn believes her Bachelorette<\/i> season, which premieres next month, ended up being successful regardless of whether she met The One.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a journey that was filled with a lot of growth<\/a> in terms of self-love,\u201d Jenn told Us, <\/i>stressing she was focused on \u201clearning and growing more\u201d within herself.<\/p>\n

Overall, Jenn found that she \u201clearned so much\u201d introspectively.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe biggest thing that I think that I look back on is I never really had a voice in a relationship,\u201d Jenn said. \u201cI always felt like I had to please the other person and kind of just roll over and let them walk all over me sometimes just because I was scared to speak up about certain things. And so throughout this journey, I really wanted to focus on [myself] and what I wanted and what I needed in a relationship. I needed to find people who allowed me to have a voice and embrace that and gave me a platform for that. I really learned how to have that confidence in speaking up for myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Throughout the season, Jenn focused on accepting herself and being present with each of the 25 men \u2014 and she wanted her suitors to do the same.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJust over one month away from Jenn Tran\u2018s premiere of The Bachelorette, ABC is confirming the official cast of contestants. On Monday, June 3, the network dropped names, photos and bios for the 25 men competing on season 21, and Us Weekly is breaking down the highlights. The Bachelorette season 16 and Bachelor in Paradise [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201c[Since] I\u2019m the first Asian American Bachelorette<\/a>, you\u2019re going to be seeing a lot of me having conversations with these men about what that means to me and what my culture means to me,\u201d Jenn said. \u201cThings like that is really what I learned to embrace throughout the journey, and I\u2019m so excited for people to see that and to see themselves reflected in that.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Jenn did not spoil how her season ends, the final result did catch her off-guard.<\/p>\n

\u201cI truly was on the edge of my seat<\/a> every day,\u201d she quipped. \u201cI was like, \u2018Something new is happening,\u2019 and I was just constantly surprised. So, I would say the journey itself included a lot of twists and turns that I was surprised by \u2014 including the ending.\u201d<\/p>\n
