Emma Roberts<\/strong><\/a> and Kim Kardashian<\/strong><\/a> have gone from costars on American Horror Story: Delicate<\/em><\/a> to co\u2013executive producers on the upcoming Netflix show Calabasas<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Roberts, 33, teased the show on Thursday, June 27, in an appearance on SiriusXM\u2019s The Spotlight With Jessica Shaw<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cKim and I are executive producing a show for Netflix called Calabasas<\/em>,\u201d Roberts said. \u201cWe have the amazing Marlene King<\/strong>, who did Pretty Little Liars<\/em>, as our showrunner. I\u2019m obsessed with her and Pretty Little Liars<\/em>. I remember seeing that show and being like, \u2018I wish I was on that show.\u2019 It was just so cool and so fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for the plot of Calabasas<\/em>, Roberts wasn\u2019t ready to share much.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, there\u2019s not really much I can share other than I just feel like I want, you know, the next, The O.C.<\/em>, and I think that if we do this right, it\u2019ll be a little The O.C.<\/em>, a little Pretty Little Liars<\/em>,\u201d Roberts said. \u201cKim and I are just two Calabasas<\/em> girls going back to our roots.\u201d<\/p>\n

Deadline<\/em><\/a> first reported in April that Netflix landed the series, saying there were two other \u201cmajor buyers\u201d involved in the bidding. The outlet also reported Calabasas<\/em> would be based on Via Bleidner<\/strong>\u2019s book If You Lived Here You\u2019d Be Famous by Now<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The satirical slasher, which ran from 2015 to 2016, featured an ensemble cast including Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Billie Lourd, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin and Keke Palmer. The book is a \u201ccollection of funny and warmhearted stories about coming of age in the Los Angeles suburb,\u201d according to its synopsis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Daily Beast<\/em> called it, \u201cAn unfiltered, thoughtful and witty insider\u2019s perspective on the suburb that birthed the Kardashian-Jenners and the Bling Ring<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Deadline<\/em> shared more about the plot of Calabasas<\/em>, saying that like the book it\u2019s based on, it will follow high schooler Via, who is thrust from the midwest to Calabasas High \u201cwhere nothing is as it appears and where everyone is trying to be someone else.\u201d<\/p>\n

Roberts was previously an executive producer on 2022 Netflix series First Kill<\/em> and the 2022 Hulu series Tell Me Lies<\/em>. Kardashian, 43, has done the bulk of her production work in reality TV. She has executive produced many episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians<\/em> as well as her family\u2019s Hulu series, The Kardashians<\/em>.<\/p>\n
