The Bachelor<\/span><\/i><\/a> alum <\/span>Maria Georgas<\/b><\/a>\u00a0unfollowed <\/span>Jenn Tran<\/b><\/a> after the women made headlines for their involvement in the <\/span>Bachelorette<\/span><\/i><\/a> casting drama, according to reports.<\/p>\n Maria, 29, currently doesn\u2019t follow Jenn, 26, on Instagram, though Life & Style<\/em> can confirm Jenn follows Maria. While it has not yet been confirmed that Maria followed Jenn, the Daily Express U.S.<\/em><\/a> reported that the Canada native did previously follow franchise\u2019s latest star.<\/p>\n Fans noticed that Maria was not following Jenn after the New Jersey native discussed the casting drama during the Wednesday, June 26, episode of \u201cCall Her Daddy.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n After Maria and Jenn competed for Joey Graziadei\u2019<\/strong>s heart during season 28 of The Bachelor<\/em>, many fans became hopeful that the Canada native would be named the next Bachelorette<\/em>. Rumors swirled that both Maria and Daisy Kent had been asked to be the next leading lady<\/a>, while many were shocked when Jenn was named the season 21 star.<\/p>\n Maria initially kept quiet about the casting drama, though broke her silence on the matter<\/a> when she appeared on \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d in May.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was set in stone. I was it,\u201d Maria said about accepting the title of Bachelorette.<\/em> \u201cWhen everyone around me was so supportive of me being in this position<\/a> and everyone wanted this for me, I took a second. I\u2019m like, \u2018Why am I not happy? Why am I not excited about this?\u2019 It took me realizing that it\u2019s just not my time [and] I was like, \u2018Respectfully, I need to decline. I need to take a step back.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Maria explained that she didn\u2019t publicly address her decision to step back from the role so that Jenn could \u201chave her moment.\u201d<\/a> She then said that Jenn is \u201cthe most perfect Bachelorette,\u201d adding, \u201cI couldn\u2019t think of anyone better to do this. She was so ready for it, and that was enough for me to say, \u2018Yeah, it\u2019s not my time.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n More than one month after Maria spoke about Jenn\u2019s casting, the physician assistant student slammed the rumors that she only got the role because others turned it down<\/a> during her own \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d appearance.<\/p>\n \u201cThe truth of the matter is, there\u2019s a lot of narratives out there and they\u2019re not necessarily the truth,\u201d Jenn said. \u201cThis show has been going on for years and years<\/a> \u2013 21 years of this show specifically \u2013 and every season there are multiple people in contention for the role. Multiple people are doing interviews or doing fittings or filming intro packages. And it\u2019s never really you until it\u2019s you. That\u2019s why I was a little disappointed. The narratives out there aren\u2019t exactly true.\u201d<\/p>\n After explaining that there are \u201calways multiple people\u201d<\/a> in consideration for the role, Jenn stated that the lead is always decided at the \u201clast minute decision.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt was disappointing to come back from this incredible journey<\/a> for myself and see all this speculation around it and have all these things take away from what my journey was,\u201d she said, alluding to Maria\u2019s claims.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
