ER<\/em> alum Noah Wyle<\/strong><\/a> said his mother, a registered nurse, used to call him every week to critique his performance on the medical drama.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe would call [at] 11:01,\u201d Wyle, 53, shared on the Monday, June 24, episode of the \u201cStill Here Hollywood\u201d<\/a> podcast of his mother, Marjorie, who worked as a nurse in an operating room for 10 years and in orthopedics for another 10. \u201c[She\u2019d] say, \u2019You never touch your face with bloody gloves! What? Do you wanna get AIDS? I\u2019ve gotta go to the hospital tomorrow and answer for that.\u2019 And I said, \u201cOK. OK.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Wyle, 53, portrayed Dr. John Carter on ER<\/em> from 1994 to 2009. Speaking to host Steve Kmeto<\/strong> about his mother\u2019s \u201cvested interest\u201d in his show, Wyle joked of Marjorie\u2019s phone calls, \u201cAdvice, criticism \u2014 it\u2019s a fine line sometimes.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor also admitted that he would tell his mom the storylines for episodes before they aired on TV. \u201cShe would know what was coming up on the storyline, so she was very in the know,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tScrub in! The cast of ER took the doctor drama genre to the next level when the show premiered in September 1994. The NBC series ran for 15 seasons, ending in 2009, and helped launch many of its stars\u2019 careers, including George Clooney, who played Dr. Doug Ross. The Ocean\u2019s Eleven star\u2019s onscreen love interest [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While he doesn\u2019t have the same work experience as his mother, Wyle shared that he still picked up on some things while playing a Hollywood doctor. \u201cMostly, you learn enough to know how little you know and how much you could do wrong and how you could really make a huge mistake,\u201d Wyle said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s been a few times where I\u2019ve happened to be the first on [the] scene at a car accident twice,\u201d the Leverage: Redemption<\/em> star continued. \u201cI knew enough to be helpful and supportive \u2014 didn\u2019t do anything that caused any harm.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wyle added that it was \u201cvery funny when the paramedics showed up\u201d at one of the accidents and, after he had filled them in on the details, they realized he was a \u201cfake\u201d doctor.<\/p>\n
