Charli XCX<\/strong><\/a> ~boom clapped~ back at Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> haters and shut down toxic behavior at her concerts after the audience at one of her shows chanted \u201cTaylor is dead.\u201d<\/p>\n The English singer-songwriter, 31, took to Instagram on Sunday, June 23, to share a screenshot of a fan video capturing the crowd\u2019s Portuguese chant during her PARTYGIRL DJ set at a S\u00e3o Paulo nightclub in Brazil earlier that night.<\/p>\n \u201cHey @charli_xcx, your Brazilian fans have been showing toxic behavior by screaming \u2018Taylor is dead!\u2019 in your concerts and events related to you,\u201d the original poster captioned the clip.<\/p>\n Charli wrote over her screenshot, \u201cCan the people who do this please stop. Online or at my shows. It is the opposite of what I want and it disturbs me that anyone would think there is room for this in this community. I will not tolerate it.\u201d<\/p>\n Tensions between Charli\u2019s and Taylor\u2019s fandoms rose earlier this month when the \u201cCruel Summer\u201d hitmaker, 34, released a U.K. exclusive digital version of her Tortured Poets Department<\/em> album around the same time that the \u201cSpeed Drive\u201d singer dropped her Brat<\/em> album. Taylor\u2019s album then took the No. 1 spot on the U.K. albums chart for the sixth week in a row, and Charli\u2019s fans accused her of stealing the win<\/a>.<\/p>\n Some of Charli\u2019s fans also believe that her song \u201cSympathy is a knife\u201d off the Brat<\/em> album is about Taylor. The Grammy nominee, who previously opened for the \u201cLover\u201d singer on her 2018 Reputation<\/em> Tour, sings, \u201cThis one girl taps my\u2005insecurities\/ don\u2019t\u2005know if it\u2019s\u2005real or if I\u2019m spiraling.\u201d<\/p>\n She later continues, \u201cDon\u2019t wanna see her backstage at my boyfriend\u2019s show\/ Fingers crossed behind my back\/ I hope they break up quick.\u201d<\/p>\n Charli is engaged to The 1975 drummer George Daniel<\/strong><\/a>, and the two have been together since 2022. She and Taylor may have crossed paths during the \u201cFortnight\u201d singer\u2019s fling with the band\u2019s singer, Matty Healy<\/strong>, in May 2023.<\/p>\n Neither Charli nor Taylor have commented on the rumors of bad blood between them.<\/p>\n Taylor and Matty, 35, briefly dated following her split from Joe Alwyn<\/strong><\/a>, which was confirmed in April 2023. Though her romance with The 1975 frontman was short-lived, many of her fans believe that multiple songs on The Tortured Poets Department<\/em> are about Matty and their relationship. However, Matty\u2019s friend told Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> on June 6 that they were never a \u201cserious\u201d couple<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cHe loves the attention it\u2019s brought to him, [but] he also thinks it\u2019s hilarious because at no time [were they] ever serious,\u201d the unnamed insider said. \u201cFor her to be saying things about baby carriages \u2026 and living together \u2014 he says it had never even come up.
