Last June, Apple announced its foray<\/a> into the very active \u201cbuy now, pay later\u201d (BNPL) market<\/a> with a feature called Apple Pay Later. Originally, it was expected to launch with the iOS16 update in September, though it was delayed.<\/p>\n

The good news? It’s now available to randomly-selected users<\/a> and will roll out to all eligible users in the coming months. The bad news? Buy now, pay later services do not allow you to earn points and miles on your purchase and can get you into trouble if you miss payments<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What is Apple Pay Later?<\/h2>\n

Apple Pay Later is Apple\u2019s version of \u201cbuy now, pay later<\/a>.\u201d This allows you to make separate, equal payments for purchases, instead of paying all at once.<\/p>\n

Rather than making a large purchase on your credit card and paying it off over time \u2014 which can mean paying interest \u2014 \u201cbuy now, pay later\u201d features allow the ability to make multiple payments over time without<\/em> paying interest.<\/p>\n
