Novack.<\/p>\n<p>Fans of the show just can\u2019t seem to let go of the notion that he may be the father of her children.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But what evidence do they have? Novak?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>When <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2017\/12\/mindy-kaling-gives-birth-and-we-know-the-baby-name\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mindy Kaling welcomed her first daughter<\/a> back in December 2017, she refused to disclose the identity of the child\u2019s father.<\/p>\n<p>It should come as no surprise then that fans jumped to the conclusion that B.J. Novak was the baby daddy.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, many were flat-out convinced that the Scranton branch\u2019s third or fourth most popular couple entered the parenting world together.<\/p>\n<p>B.J. and Mindy starred as coworkers and lovers Ryan Howard and Kelly Kapoor, respectively, on <em>The Office<\/em> from 2005 to 2013.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Love imitated art for several years, as the pair dated while the show was on the air. The pregnancy was a secret, of course, aided by the fact that the world was locked away in their homes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And again, Mindy deflected questions on who the father of both of her children was. Fans started pulling at threads, dissecting everything Mindy\u2019s said about their relationship in interviews and her own writing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will freely admit \u2014 my relationship with BJ Novak is weird as hell. He is not my boyfriend, but he is not my best friend,\u201d<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifeandstylemag.com\/posts\/mindy-kaling-bj-novak-oscars-155254\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Kaling revealed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI guess you could describe our relationship as a \u2018romantically charged camaraderie with loud arguments,\u2019 but I don\u2019t think Facebook would accept this as a new status.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In her 2015 memoir, Kaling left <em>Office<\/em> fans overjoyed when she revealed that she and Novak refer to one another as each other\u2019s \u201csoup snakes,\u201d a reference to a season 7 episode in which Michael Scott intended to use the term \u201csoul mates\u201d and flubbed it as only he can.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018Soul mates\u2019 is what you aim for, but soup snakes is what you get sometimes,\u201d Kaling wrote.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"785\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.thehollywoodgossip.com\/uploads\/2018\/03\/GettyImages-1473148452-1024x785.jpg\" alt=\"B.J. Novack, despite the fact that in 2022, Mindy finally addressed the rumors head on.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marieclaire.com\/celebrity\/mindy-kaling-interview-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Marie Claire<\/em><\/a>, Mindy explained, \u201cHe\u2019s the godparent to both my kids\u2014and they have such a great relationship\u2014and so far [the rumors haven\u2019t] affected my happiness at all, it hasn\u2019t affected my kids or B. J.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf that\u2019s what is going to be titillating to people, I\u2019ll take it,\u201d she said, adding of protecting her kids\u2019 privacy, \u201cI want them to be old enough to talk to me about it and [tell me] how they want me to talk about it.
