Country music legend Willie Nelson<\/strong><\/a> canceled several appearances at the traveling Outlaw Music Festival on \u201cdoctor\u2019s orders.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and, per doctor\u2019s orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days,\u201d Nelson\u2019s team shared via his account on X<\/a> on Friday, June 21. \u201cIn the meantime, [Willie Nelson\u2019s son] Lukas Nelson<\/strong> and the Family Band will perform a special set to include Willie\u2019s classics and other songs.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 91-year-old singer behind such hits as \u201cOn The Road Again\u201d and \u201cSeven Spanish Angels\u201d missed a performance in Alpharetta, Georgia, and will also sit out two North Carolina stops in Raleigh and Charlotte. Nelson\u2019s team expects him to rejoin the festival next week.<\/p>\n

The traveling festival also boasts Bob Dylan<\/strong>, Robert Plant<\/strong> and Alison Krauss<\/strong>, John Mellencamp<\/strong> and Billy Strings<\/strong> as headliners. The fest started in 2016 and is curated by Nelson. Friday\u2019s Alpharetta show was the launch of the 2024 edition, which will run through September.<\/p>\n

Nelson has been sidelined by health scares in the past. He very nearly canceled the 2019 tour due to a \u201cbreathing problem<\/a>.\u201d However, those dates were merely postponed to later in the year after Nelson assured fans he was \u201cresting and getting better.\u201d<\/p>\n
