The Boys’ showrunner, Eric Kripke, sat down and gave an interview about the latest episode in the series.<\/p>\n

- Homelander’s laugh during the infamous “squirt” scene was unscripted.<\/li>\n
<\/p>\n
- Kripke says that Homelander’s visit to the lab is a huge turning point for the character. “He\u2019ll never be able to get rid of the parts of him that are human because he\u2019s human. And as much as he represses it and is disgusted by it and hates it and tries to kill it, he\u2019ll never quite be able to. I think that\u2019s part of his hubris and part of the tragedy of Homelander, if you can use that word, which is if only he embraced his humanity, not only would he be happier, but the world would be a much better place. But he can\u2019t, and it\u2019s just pushing him further and further into psychosis.”<\/li>\n
<\/p>\n
- Barbara is apparently still alive. This was an intentional move, as Homelander wanted her to continue living with all the trauma he left her with.<\/li>\n
<\/p>\n
- Annie’s abortion storyline was a reaction to Roe v. Wade being overturned. The writers decided to have it off-screen because they didn’t want to use it as a plot for relationship drama and wanted to show that these situations for both couples and\u00a0women in general are far more common than people think.<\/li>\n
