The Paramount Network has announced the return date for the final episodes of Yellowstone<\/em><\/a>, but fans hoping for Kevin Costner<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s comeback will be disappointed. Costner has officially confirmed via social media that he will not return to the hit series.<\/p>\n

Costner made the announcement through a video post on Instagram, starting with, \u201cAn update for you guys. I\u2019ll see you at the movies.\u201d He elaborated, \u201cI want to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on Horizon and doing all the things that\u2019s required, and thinking about Yellowstone, that beloved series that I love, that I know you love, I just realized that I\u2019m not going to be able to continue Season 5B or into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier on Thursday, Paramount revealed that the second half of the fifth and final season of Taylor Sheridan<\/strong>‘s series will premiere on Sunday, November 10 at 8 p.m. ET\/PT. The announcement did not specify whether Costner\u2019s character, John Dutton, would appear in these final episodes. Fans had to look for recent interviews to find out more about Costner\u2019s involvement in the show’s conclusion.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with People<\/em><\/a>, Costner expressed disappointment over the lack of support from his former co-stars when initial reports blamed his absence solely on his filming schedule for Horizon: An American Saga<\/strong><\/em>. \u201cI read all the stories,\u201d he said. \u201cI was disappointed that nobody on their side\u2026ever stepped up to defend what it was I actually did for them. There came a moment where I thought, \u2018Wow, when is somebody going to say something about what I have done versus what I haven\u2019t done?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite his departure, Costner mentioned that he would be open to returning to wrap up the Yellowstone<\/em> saga under specific conditions. \u201cI\u2019ve always felt that\u2026It might be an interesting moment to come back and finish the mythology of this modern-day family,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd if that happens, I would step into it if I agreed with how it was being done.\u201d<\/p>\n

On June 17, Costner told Today<\/em><\/a> that he hadn’t entirely closed the door on returning to Yellowstone<\/em>. \u201cNumber one, I did it for five years, OK, and I want to work more than once a year. We lost an entire year at one point, and I thought, \u2018Well that can\u2019t ever happen again.\u2019 It was well over a year.\u201d<\/p>\n
