Donald Sutherland<\/strong><\/a> died at age 88 on Thursday, June 20, and fellow celebrities are paying their respects to the legendary actor.<\/p>\n

CAA confirmed in a statement<\/a> to Deadline that The Hunger Games<\/em><\/a> star died following a \u201clong illness.\u201d The actor\u2019s son Kiefer Sutherland<\/strong> was quick to confirm the news<\/a> via social media with a tribute to his dad.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away,\u201d Kiefer wrote, alongside a photo with Donald. \u201cI personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film. Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.\u201d<\/p>\n
