Joseph Gordon-Levitt<\/strong><\/a> may have an eternal baby-face, but 10 Things I Hate About You\u2019s<\/em> 25th anniversary is still making him feel a bit weathered.<\/p>\n

\u201cI must be old,\u201d Gordon-Levitt, 43, quipped during the Wednesday, June 19, episode of CBS Mornings<\/em><\/a> when asked how he feels about the teen comedy turning 25. When cohost Nate Burleson<\/strong> pointed out how young Gordon-Levitt looked in the film, the actor confessed he\u2019d heard that remark before.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy wife, [Tasha McCauley<\/strong>], was talking to her friend who was like, \u2018Oh, Joe was so cute in that movie! What was he, like, 10 or 11? \u2019\u2014 I was 17!\u201d he said, laughing.<\/p>\n

Based on Shakespeare\u2019s 16th century comedy play The Taming Of The Shrew<\/em>, the 1999 film followed Gordon-Levitt\u2019s Cameron James as vies for the attention of Larisa Oleynik\u2019s<\/strong> Bianca Stratford. When Bianca reveals that she can\u2019t date until her sister Kat (Julia Stiles<\/strong>) does, he devises a plan to trick Kat into falling for the school\u2019s resident bad boy, Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe beloved 10 Things I Hate About You made its debut on March 31, 1999, and more than two decades later, fans are still talking about the romantic comedy. Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger played star-crossed lovers Kat Stratford and Patrick Verona, respectively. The pair reluctantly fell in love with each other amid a backdrop [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Life imitated art as Gordon-Levitt reportedly dated<\/a> Stiles briefly while filming. After the movie\u2019s release, he and Oleynik also sparked a romance and dated for three years before calling it quits in 2002. He later moved on with McCauley, and the couple quietly tied the knot<\/a> in December 2014. They share two sons, whom they welcomed in 2015 and 2017.<\/p>\n

After the birth of his first baby, Gordon-Levitt explained why he\u2019s chosen to keep his family out of the public eye. \u201cMy son, he\u2019s just a baby, you know? So, he hasn\u2019t made the choice to be in the public eye, and that\u2019s a choice that I would like him to be able to make when he\u2019s older, when he can think about these kinds of things and make that decision for himself,\u201d he explained during a 2015 interview with Kelly Ripa<\/strong>. \u201cAnd so, for now, I\u2019m just a protective dad, and I want to protect his privacy.\u201d<\/p>\n

After taking some time off to prioritize dad duties, Gordon-Levitt is back in the spotlight and promoting his upcoming film Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F<\/em> opposite Eddie Murphy<\/strong>. During his CBS Mornings<\/em> appearance on Wednesday, he gushed over working with the iconic comedian after idolizing him as a kid.<\/p>\n
