Trevor St. John<\/strong> revealed he is ready to bid farewell to Tucker McCall while announcing his exit<\/a> from The Young and the Restless<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cDear [Young and the Restless<\/em>] fans: As you well know, Tuckers come and Tuckers go, and so the cycle continues,\u201d St. John, 52, wrote via X<\/a> on Tuesday, June 18, referring to his soap opera character. \u201cThis Tucker is in his go phase.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor has played billionaire tycoon Tucker McCall since 2022, but he wasn\u2019t the first. The role was previously portrayed by William Russ<\/strong> and Stephen Nichols<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhen soap opera stars leave their roles, it can be as shocking as their shows\u2019 plotlines. Alison Sweeney surprised longtime Days of Our Lives fans in 2014 when she announced she\u2019d be exiting the series after 21 years. \u201cI\u2019ve been on Days of Our Lives since I was 16 years old, and I have never [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

St. John proceeded to thank \u201ceach and every member of the wonderful cast, the crew, the directors, the producers and production staff, and CBS\/Sony for the great experience from day one to the last.\u201d<\/p>\n

He shared via social media that after more than 200 episodes on the soap opera<\/a> he is ready to say goodbye.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel so fortunate to have played such a terrific role,\u201d St. John continued. \u201cMost importantly, I want to offer my heartfelt gratitude to you the [Y&R<\/em>] fans. THANK YOU! \ud83e\ude77\ud83d\ude4f.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMany celebrities have soap operas to thank for launching their careers. Before becoming an Oscar winner, Julianne Moore got her start on As the World Turns in 1988. She portrayed sisters Frannie Hughes and Sabrina Hughes, which scored her a Daytime Emmy in 1988. Moore eventually exited the series to kickstart her film career. Like [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He noted that \u201cTucker might be gone for the time being, but I\u2019m not going anywhere.\u201d St. John told his fans that he has several projects \u201cin the works,\u201d including his latest movie A Good Enough Day<\/em> on Tubi.<\/p>\n

St. John didn\u2019t reveal when his last episode on the CBS series will air, nor did he tease how his chapter as Tucker will come to an end. Us Weekly<\/em> has reached out to CBS for comment on the actor\u2019s departure<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The surprising announcement comes just shy of two years after St. John made his debut in September 2022 as the character. After being cast, he told Soap Opera Digest<\/em><\/a> how excited he was to be playing opposite Eileen Davidson<\/strong>, who portrays Ashley Abbott McCall.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s great. I really like Eileen,\u201d St. John said at the time. \u201cShe\u2019s super talented and growing ever more fearless by the day that I\u2019ve noted and she\u2019s willing to play, she\u2019s interested in the unexpected. She\u2019s a very generous actor and very generous person, just lovely to work with.\u201d<\/p>\n

Actors like Alec Musser, David Gail and Billy Miller left fans shocked after their unexpected deaths. Fans most recently saw Tucker and Ashley\u2019s relationship hit a bump after Ashley went into treatment for dissociative identity disorder (DID). Tucker, meanwhile, has been struggling to keep his company from being taken over by Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver<\/strong>) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden<\/strong>).<\/p>\n
